The release date for “Wicked: For Good – The Soundtrack” was announced Wednesday morning, and with that, details of two songs written for the upcoming film by Stephen Schwartz have been announced. The leading women, Cynthia Eribo and Ariana Grande, get new solo numbers with these additions.
The two songs written by Schwartz for the second film are “No Home Like Place” performed by Eribo as Elphaba and “The Girl in the Bubble,” performed by Grande as Glinda.
“No Loce Like Home” and “The Girl in the Bubble” are expected to be Oscar-qualified, unlike any of the songs from the first film that added poems but did not feature an entirely new song.
Don’t necessarily expect viewers across the country to hear these new songs before they get the first crack in listening to them in the film’s context. The “Wicked: For Good” soundtrack album will be released on November 21st. This is also the opening day of the film.
On top of the two newly written songs, Schwartz promises additional material incorporated into the more familiar songs that have been carried over from the second act of the stage musical.
“We are particularly pleased that the ‘Wicked: For Good’ soundtrack album has so many new music,” Schwartz said in a statement. “In addition to the two brand new songs, there are many new songs in some other existing songs. So, not only does listeners reach scores for the first time, but it does a lot for longtime fans of the original Broadway cast album to discover.”
Schwartz previously revealed that he has written at least one whole new song for the second film. The composer-songwriter also mentioned in his interview with the first film to bring back some material that was cut during the development of the second film, and not wanting to slow down the acceleration dramatic momentum of the second act.
Another track included in the new album is “The Wicked Witch of the East,” sung by Marissa Bode, Eribo and Ethan Slater. The song was included in the stage musical, but not in the original cast album of the time.
“Mainichi More More Wicked,” which opens the soundtrack album, is a title that is not seen in the stage version of “Wicked,” but the phrase occurs with the lyrics “Thanks.”

Act 2 of “Evil” always had fewer cast signatures than Act I, with fewer songs in general, but apparently “for for for good” is in the repertoire alongside “defing gravity” so much that it was added as subtitles for the film. Grande and Erivo’s new solo numbers will somehow go on adding not only weight to the score, but perhaps additional balladic gravity.
The album will be released on CDs, 2-LP vinyl sets, double picture disc LP packages, and digitally. The Target Store features an exclusive version with a lenticular cover package, and Amazon, Walmart, Barnes & Noble also has its own variations. Here you can pre-order various editions of the soundtrack.
