Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé are bringing fresh wisdom to the team on The Voice.
On Thursday, October 23, NBC announced that Zac Brown will be joining Season 28 of The Voice as a mega-mentor. Speaking to PEOPLE ahead of the announcement, the “Chicken Fried” singer said she felt right at home.
“Some of those singers are way better than me,” the 47-year-old Zac Brown Band frontman says of the contestants. “But the great thing about music is that anyone can be like the X-Men. They have superpowers, but they have to figure out and learn all the life skills, business skills, discipline, perseverance, all those things.”
“I mean, I think at our best, we’re all extensions of each other. As humans, we try to sharpen each other, we try to help each other. But I was definitely inspired, and it made me want to be a better singer.”
On The Voice, Mega Mentors are special guests and coach contestants during the Knockouts. And he’s coaching the Canadian crooner, 50, and the “Gin and Juice” rapper, 53.

“I really love the wisdom that they were sharing with everyone because so much of it completely resonated with me and what I was feeling and thinking,” he says.
During filming, Brown said, “I also learned a lot about snoopism.”
“It’s sharp as a mosquito sting. I don’t know. There are 100 stories I heard today,” he said, adding, “So I think I really saw their hearts. Michael and Snoop, both of them. They’re my people.”
Mr. Brown, who participated in this experience, says that he did not have high expectations and went in with an open mind.
“As you get older, you have less expectations because you might be disappointed if it’s not quite what you thought it would be,” he says. “I’m trying to redesign my mindset so that I can live in flow no matter what happens.”
“So I came here and just had fun with everyone. It was a great day,” he added. “It was an exciting day. I got to hear from some great talent and work with some great artists.”
Brown, a father of five, who is gearing up for the release of the band’s studio album Love & Fear, due out in December, says stepping into a leadership role was a natural for him.
“I always teach my kids things like working at a summer camp. I was a camp counselor for years and then on staff for three years,” the “Free” singer said of his children with ex-wife Sheree Brown. “I love anything I can do to add value to them…that feeds me.”
In addition to Brown, Joe Walsh of the Eagles will also participate in the singing competition show as a mega mentor for Team Reba and Team Nile.
Watch Brown on an episode of The Voice airing Monday, October 27th at 8pm ET on NBC.
