Jackson Olson’s antics towards Savannah Bananas aren’t just catching fan notifications.
WME has signed on to represent the colorful 27-year-old infielder in every region. This is a sign that attention is being paid to the bananas. Players often enter dance and comedy routines during innings through unscripted games. Disney’s ESPN2 and ESPN+ and Warner Bros. Discovery’s TNT Sports have been airing bananas events in the recent past, as well as the Roku and Nexstar CW networks.
Olson, 27, is building a digital presence in addition to winning notifications on the field. He has around 2 million followers on Tiktok and 920,000 on Instagram. A series of viral videos he made caught the gaze of Jesse Cole, the owner of the banana who hired Olson. Banana is part of the Fan First Entertainment, Cole company.
“I came to Savannah, who doesn’t know if I’ll play here the next year, or the next year, or the next year. In fact, I was planning to play six games for the Summer Series in 2022,” Olson told Hartford’s television station WFSB earlier this year. “I enjoyed these games as much as I could because it could end after these six. But I’m lucky enough to play the following year, and the following year, and this year, 2025.”
He also has an interesting backstory. Growing up in New Milford, Connecticut, Olson was on the Hartford University baseball team and played summers in the Cape Cod Baseball League. However, he refused an offer to play for the Arizona Diamondbacks so that he could complete his college education. And he took serious effort in posting videos to Tiktok.
WME will work with Olson to expand its brand, entrepreneurial venture, media and content influence. He is managed by Max Fleming, founder and CEO of Motive.
