Jada Pinkett Smith is accused of threatening to harm her husband Will Smith’s former best friend after revealing details of her private life in a shocking new lawsuit.
In a lawsuit filed on Nov. 7, Bilal Salaam, who describes himself as Will’s “best friend of nearly 40 years,” claims Jada confronted him at Will’s birthday party on Sept. 25, 2021, at the Regency Calabasas Common.
“While in the lobby, Jada Pinkett Smith approached Plaintiff with approximately seven of her entourage, verbally abused Plaintiff, threatened Plaintiff with ‘going missing or being hit by a bullet’ if she ‘continued to talk about personal matters,’ and ‘or else’ demanded that Plaintiff sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA),” the complaint, obtained by Page Six, states.
Salaam claims that Jada’s co-workers then followed her to her car and continued to verbally threaten her.
The lawsuit alleges that a “retaliatory campaign” was later launched against Will after he slapped Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars and refused to cooperate with crisis management.
The documents allege that Salaam refused to perform any work that “appeared to be illegal, unethical, or morally compromising.”
Salaam is also suing Jada for “intentionally inflicting emotional distress” after she denied to TMZ that she had ever seen Will engage in sexual or intimate acts with men.
“This was a false denial because Plaintiff had already released a viral video showing Will Smith groping Alfonso Ribeiro (including his penis, nipples, and buttocks) in front of Defendants and their children, who were clearly present,” the complaint says. (Mr. Ribeiro has never commented on this claim).
Salaam alleges in the lawsuit that Jada’s “false denials” were a deliberate attempt to discredit Jada and imply that her previous statements about Will were “inaccurate, delusional, or fabricated and have caused serious public ridicule and loss of credibility.”
There are also allegations that Jada’s acting manager threatened her to “work things out” and “end this feud before it gets worse” regarding her upcoming memoir.
Salaam claims that Jada’s “malicious, intentional, and reckless conduct” has caused him to suffer reputational damage, poor health, financial loss, and emotional trauma, according to the complaint.
He is seeking $3 million in damages.
Representatives for Jada and Will did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
This is not the first time Salaam has made accusations against Will. In November 2023, Will’s representatives denied Salaam’s claims that she witnessed Will having sex with actor Duane Martin.
“This story is completely fabricated and the claims are unequivocally false,” his rep told TMZ at the time.
