Will Smith and ex-wife Shelly Zampino also celebrated their son Trey’s 33rd birthday with family.
The “Bad Boys” star posed for a rare blended family photo featuring wife Jada Pinkett Smith and younger son Jaden Smith in an Instagram post shared by Zampino on Wednesday.
“Wow! You’re a 33 year old son! What a pure joy and wonderful soul you are! Your light is contagious and the love, grace and compassion with which you live and move is such a beautiful honor, privilege and joy to behold!” she captioned the post.
“To say that I am honored to be your mother is just scratching the surface of the depth of my gratitude and love for you! May these 33 years of orbiting the sun be a gateway to another dimension of brilliance and abundance! Happy 33rd Anniversary, The AngO!”
In the first photo, Will was standing next to Zampino while his son had his arm around the group.
She also posted a video of Will singing “Happy Birthday” to the birthday boy, along with several other family members and friends.
The “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” star married Zampino in 1992, but the two went their separate ways and divorced in 1995.
Just two years later, Will married Pinkett Smith. The couple have a son, Jayden (27), and a daughter, Willow (25).
According to the entrepreneur, the road between Pinkett Smith and Zampino was rocky when it came to their co-parenting relationship.
Zampino revealed in August 2022 that the three parents disagreed on parenting styles because they each had “three different dynamics, three different personalities, and (three) different belief systems.”
“My feeling was with Jada, as long as she treats him well, we’ll be fine,” Zampino said on David Yontef’s “Behind the Velvet Rope” podcast.
At the time, Zampino said the “Girls Trip” star always “treats[Trey]well” and “loves him.”
However, the “Men in Black” star revealed that she was having issues with her son following her divorce from Zampino.
In 2018, Will reflected on his progress with Trey over the years, saying that father and son had “struggling for years” after splitting from his ex-husband.
“It wasn’t always like this between Trey and I. We had a difficult few years after divorcing his mother. He felt betrayed and abandoned. It’s an incredible blessing to be able to restore and mend a loving relationship with my beautiful son! @treysmith0011,” he said in an Instagram update.
Will went on to say that his son told him that his father came to be his best friend.
Trey usually kept a low profile compared to other famous families.
However, he appeared next to Will in the music video for Will’s song “Just The Two of Us” in 1998, and in 2003 he starred in two episodes of the series “All Of Us”.
