Will Ferrell’s upcoming Netflix series Set of Golf rounds out its cast.
Variety learned that Chris Parnell, Caitlyn Tarber and David Hornsby participated in a comedy show alongside previously announced cast members Ferrell, Molly Shannon, Jimmy Tatro and Fortune Famester. The show was originally announced in May 2024. Except for the fact that Ferrell plays a fictional golf legend, the exact plot details are wrapped.
Parnell plays Anton, and is said to be “a PGA Tour Board member and around Jerk.” This role marks the reunion of Parnell, Ferrell and Shannon, as all three were castmates on Saturday Night Live. Parnell is also known for his roles in shows like “30 Rock” and for lending his voice to animated series such as “Rick and Morty” and “Archer.”
Tarver plays Natalie and is said to be “a social media influencer and highly supportive fiancé of Lance (Tatro). Tarver’s past television credits include shows such as the HBO series Ballers, Big Time Rush, The Secret Life of American Teenager, and Famous in Love.
Hornsby plays Radford with “a rich southern guy dating Stacey (Shannon).” Hornsby is best known for his work at “Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” He appears in recurring roles in cricket while serving as a writer and executive producer. Hornsby is also the author, executive producer and star of the Apple TV+ comedy series Mythic Quest, which recently concluded after four seasons.
Parnell is represented by Buchwald and Rise Management. Tarver is represented by innovative artist entertainment, industry entertainment and Myman Greenspan. The Hornsby is represented by the CAA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
Netflix ordered 10 episodes of the series, which will be Ferrell’s first television starring role. Ferrell Executive produces alongside Jessica Elbaum and Alix Taylor of Gloria Sanchez Productions. Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman and Nena Rodrigue are executive producers of T-Street. Chris Henchy, Harper Steele, David Gordon Green and Andrew Guest will serve as executive producers.
