Ana de Armas and Tom Cruise’s relationship became ‘Mission: Impossible’ after Ana de Armas reportedly became ‘uncomfortable’ with her ‘Deeper’ co-star’s pace.
Us Weekly reported on Thursday that the breakup was “Anna’s decision.”
“Things moved quickly and she started to get a little uncomfortable with how fast it happened,” a source told the outlet despite their “undeniable chemistry.”
The 37-year-old “Ballerina” star has “put on the brakes” but is “still very fond of[Cruise],” a source revealed.
“They have a connection,” the source revealed. “They’ll see what the future holds. … Tom and Anna are done for now.
“They want to remain friends, but she needed to take a step back,” the source continued.
The two sparked romance rumors in February, with the media claiming they started dating while “spending every day together” and “training for intense underwater scenes.”
A source said, “It started out as a deep professional respect, and then it sparked. Tom became completely obsessed with Anna.”
As for de Armas, the Golden Globe nominee reportedly “enjoyed being with[Cruz]” and found him “fun to be around” because he was “supportive of her and everything she wanted to do.”
Representatives for Mr. Cruz and Mr. de Armas did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
Earlier this month, news broke that they had ceased their activities.
The Daily Mail then reported that de Armas and Cruz, 63, “wanted to save their friendship and the future of cinema” and “realized they should continue professionally.”
The newspaper claimed, “As with any good movie, everything comes to an end. That was the case with Tom and Anna.”
Cruise has been married three times to Mimi Rogers, Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes.
The “Knives Out” star divorced ex-husband Mark Clotet in 2013 and married Manuel Anido Cuesta, son-in-law of Ben Affleck and Cuban President Diaz Canel.
