Sabrina Carpenter shares her unwillingness to reveal who her song is.
Sabrina Carpenter doesn’t want to give it all.
On August 29th, the Grammy Award-winning artist sat with Gale King at CBS Morning and shared that she prefers not to reveal the subject of her song. Some fans have speculated that her ex-boyfriend actor Barry Keogan may have sung on several tracks on her latest album, Man’s Best Friend, Short N’Sweet in 2024. “I’ll say it,” she told King. “It’s more fun to imagine the person in my head than the person I imagined in my head.”
When King asked if Keogan had gotten a lot of backlash due to fan rumours she felt bad, she said, “I feel like I’m pretty transparent with one of my relationships I’m writing songs about. And I think they’re pretty flattering when they get a song about them, when they do something good or bad.
She gave a similar point last year. In September 2024, she told W she didn’t want her romantic life to be a public display, and her song remains open to interpretation. “I know why people are interested,” she said. “But they can listen to my albums and decide for themselves what the song is.”
Carpenter released their seventh album, “Man’s Best Friend,” on August 29th.
