Olivia Rodrigo continues to tease her new musical era, but fans will have to wait at least another year for her next Grammy moment. The singer did not appear at the 2026 ceremony. Because she did not release any new music during her eligibility period, she received no nominations and will not perform or present tonight.
She was last seen with Grammy Award winner Olivia Deane at Sir Lucien Grainge’s 2026 Music is Universal Artist Showcase yesterday.
The star attended last year’s Grammy Awards as a presenter. She wore a vintage Versace black dress with dramatic cutouts.
In October, Rodrigo spoke to ELLE about his upcoming album. “I’m working on new music and it’s a lot of fun,” she said. “It’s great to be back from touring and fully immersed in new songs, new sounds, and new stories. We’re really having a great time.”
She said it felt “very different” from working on her previous album, Guts and Sour. “I feel like I’m a little older now and have more experience because of it,” she explained. “I think touring and all the festivals were really educational for me and taught me a lot about who I am, what kind of music I want to make, and what kind of music I want to play for people. I bring all those lessons with me into the studio.”
She also talked about why she loves the intimacy of performing live for her fans. “It means a lot,” she said. “That’s why live music is so special these days. There’s always so many screens and fakes around us. But live music is a medium where it feels so real and raw and[we]feel so connected to the people next to us, whether it’s a stranger or an artist we really like. It’s one of those things. It’s a very surreal experience to be on stage and see that. And I still feel a connection, especially to the young girls who come to see my shows. I feel like it’s a real honor to be able to be a part of their live performance like this, no matter how many songs or how many hours I’m on stage. ”
