According to a new report, Jimmy Kimmel returned to ABC on Tuesday for his staff.
The Daily Mail claimed on Monday, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” The host decided to return it after suspension “out of respect… for everyone who works for him.”
The source claimed, “He wanted to make sure that all of his crew didn’t miss out on wages and more work than they already missed.”
The 57-year-old reportedly wanted “the people he works with will have time to figure out what will next step.”
The insider argued that Kimmel “maybe he hasn’t left ABC now, but unless he has his money on him (in 2026) once his contract is over.”
Without his team, the daytime Emmy winner was said to have been “hoping to leave ABC and hoped he wouldn’t come back at all.”
Kimmel’s representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Page 6.
The comedian’s show, which premiered in 2003, was “indefinitely ahead” last week following Kimmel’s monologue on Charlie Kirk’s death.
TV conglomerate Nexstar Media, which has included his comments, “strongly opposed (ED)” claims that “Maga Gang() is desperately trying to characterize this child who murdered Charlie Kirk.”
Kimmel has since received much support from his fellow late-night hosts, with 400 celebrities denounced his suspension as “a dark moment of freedom of speech.”
Howard Stern joined Disney+ subscribers who boycotted the network by cancelling their subscription in protest.
News came Monday that Kimmel’s show would return in the wake of a “thoughtful conversation,” but Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns several ABC affiliate stations, will continue to replace “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” With news programming.
Kimmel has not yet said anything about the scandal.
