Us Weekly’s sources detailed the circumstances that led to their breakup, revealing that there was more to it than just a long-distance relationship.

Bella Hadid and Adan Banuelos’ love story has come to an end. Entertainment Tonight reported that the two, who were first romantically involved in October 2023, have quietly separated.
A source told the magazine about what’s been going on in Hadid’s head: “Bella has been doing her best to stay positive and distract herself since the breakup. She’s been busy with work and spending time with close friends. She’s still processing the breakup as it was a very serious relationship.”
The next day, a source revealed the details of the split to Us Weekly, saying it happened “a few weeks ago” and that a number of factors led to the decision.
According to a source, the breakup was “a very recent incident, as it was just after the holidays, so it’s a fresh incident.” “(She) is back at work and very focused on (her career).”

The source said things started to go “downhill” when “she became busy promoting her new series (‘The Beauty’) and started doing more campaigns and events with Olevera.”
The source further added, “(The two) had busy schedules and were long distance (for a while),” but “(the relationship) didn’t work out.”
The former couple “realized that they had different opinions and values about life and the future,” the source continued. “There were a lot of things that were putting a strain on the relationship. Adan really wanted her to be with him in Texas, but Bella was ready to spread her wings again and take on more work in Los Angeles and New York.”
Hadid relies on her support system to keep going. “She was really heartbroken and thought Adan was The One,” a source said. “Her girlfriend and family have been cheering her up these past few weeks.”
Hadid has also made public appearances online. The model was recently spotted promoting “The Beauty” at the New York City premiere of the FX show on January 14th.
She also posted an Instagram Story earlier this week called “God’s Timing Always Wins,” where she shared a new post of herself on a tropical vacation.
During their relationship, Hadid and Banuelos occasionally spoke publicly about their romance, but mostly kept it private. In August 2024, Banuelos, a Texas-based cowboy, told the podcast “Along for the Ride” that Hadid moved into a fifth-wheel trailer with him. “That was cool because I wanted that to be a part of our relationship,” he said. “You start to have feelings for someone and you start thinking, ‘Oh, this could be the rest of my life here,’ and then you find out that she’s that simple, and that material things don’t matter, or are the most important thing.”

In May 2025, Hadid spoke about Banuelos in an interview with British Vogue, recalling how she met Banuelos at a local Texas horse show when she had just moved to Texas with her mother at a low point in her life.
“When I saw him come in, it was like a breath of fresh air,” she said. “So he basically came in and walked into the exhibit hall, which is where the whole show takes place. I was wearing a cowboy hat, and I just saw him and thought, this is the guy…I’ve always wanted a cowboy,” she added with a laugh. “And he’s gorgeous, so let me tell you something.”
She gushed about his accomplishments, saying, “He’s the youngest Mexican cowboy ever inducted into the Hall of Fame. He works for his family, he works for his customers, he works with the hope that one day he’ll start a home and a family.”
She also talked about her dreams of becoming a parent. “I can’t wait to be a mom. I think I’m somebody to a lot of people, but to be able to be someone really close and dependable all the time is going to change my life. And I can’t wait. Growing up, I never thought, ‘Oh, this is how I see marriage.'” I have a vision of being a mom. But it got to the point where I was like: It’s for me. ‘If you do that, I think you’ll be truly happy.’ ”
