overview
Ayo Edebiri skipped tonight 2025 Emmys. Edebiri has two nominations for his work in Bear. Best Actresses in the Comedy Series and Best Director of the Comedy Series.
Ayodebili of Bears was the night’s most prestigious two awards, the best actress in the comedy series, and the best director in the comedy series, but the star sat at the night. Edebili is not seen on the red carpet and is taking part in a press tour of her upcoming films after the hunt.
The 29-year-old star is making history tonight. She is the youngest black woman to be nominated for the Best Acting Award three times. (Her role as Sydney in Bear has earned her the best actress in comedy series nominations for the third year in a row.)
Edebiri went viral last week to answer questions about the #MeToo and Black Lives Matter moves. She was co-interviewing with her after Hunt co-stars Andrew Garfield and Julia Roberts. The reporter said, “With the #MeToo era and the issues of black lives, what should we expect in Hollywood, what we lost if we lost something in the politically correct era.”
Edebili raised her hand and said, “I know that’s not the case for me, and I don’t know if it’s intentional that it’s not for me, but I’m just not interested. I don’t think it’s done at all, because this world is not billed at all.
Garfield added, “Or, the movement has somehow stopped. As you say, the movement is still absolutely alive so that it doesn’t get labelled, covered or enlarged at this moment.”
