Ariana Grande will not be attending the 2026 Grammy Awards.
The singer earned her only Grammy nomination, which was announced during the pre-show, and shared an Instagram Story celebrating the milestone during the ceremony.
Grande also did not attend last year’s Grammy Awards.
Ariana Grande is staying out of the spotlight tonight after attending the Critics’ Choice Awards and Golden Globe Awards. The singer will not attend the 2026 Grammy Awards. However, she took to her Instagram Stories to congratulate herself and her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo for winning the award for Best Pop Duo/Group. Their song “Defying Gravity” won this honor, which was announced during the Grammy Awards pre-show. This is Grande’s only nomination this year.
“This is so special! :’) Thank you so much @recordingacademy!” Grande wrote on Instagram, adding, “Congratulations to the amazing @cynthiaerivo. I love you and am so grateful to share this with you.”
The Eternal Sunshine singer was also absent from last year’s awards ceremony, where she was nominated in three categories. That year, she was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (“The Boy Is Mine” with Brandy and Monica), Best Pop Vocal Album (Eternal Sunshine), and Best Dance-Pop Recording (“Yes and?”).
However, many believed she was slighted because Eternal Sunshine was excluded from the show’s biggest categories: Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year.
When the 2026 nominations were announced, fans expressed disappointment that Grande’s Eternal Sunshine: Brighter Days Ahead did not receive a nomination. “Brighter Days Ahead” recently won Video of the Year, Best Pop Song, and Best Feature Video at the MTV VMAs.
However, Grande is booked and busy. Fokker in Law was released in November, she will star in season 13 of American Horror Story, will begin touring in June, and will co-star with Jonathan Bailey in Sunday in the Park with George in the West End in summer 2027.
