rundown
Actor Wagner Moura is married to Brazilian artist Sandra Delgado and they have three children. He recently won a Golden Globe Award and she also attended the ceremony.
Wagner Moura has been nominated for the 2026 Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture for his role in The Secret Agent. That night, he and wife Sandra Delgado walked the red carpet together for the first time since 2020. And the two made a great pair.
The pair were last seen in January 2020 at a Netflix premiere in Park City, looking very much in love.
The night was even more exciting as Moura became the first Brazilian actor to win in this category in Golden Globe history.
Although he and Delgado have been together for decades, they have kept much of their personal information private. As a matter of fact, it is not completely clear whether they are legally married or not. In December 2025, the Los Angeles Times referred to her as his wife, but Cosmopolitan reports that she refers to him as her “partner” on social media.
Here’s what we know so far about Sandra Delgado and her long partnership with the award-winning actor.
Who is Sandra Delgado?
Like her partner, Sandra Delgado is a creative who works in the entertainment industry. Although she is primarily a photographer, she also has many credits as a documentary filmmaker and screenwriter. Delgado was born and raised in Brazil and currently lives between Rio de Janeiro and Los Angeles, according to a biography from Cine Cua Non Lab, a nonprofit storytelling institute. According to her website, she holds a bachelor’s degree in social communication and journalism from the Federal University of Bahia and a master’s degree in photography and social sciences from UCAM in Rio de Janeiro.
Delgado has lived a vibrant artistic life, studying screenwriting at the University of California, working as a photographer and editor at Coletivo Viva Favela, and creating installations featured at various art festivals. In 2015, she produced and directed her own documentary series, Terceiro Sinal, and in 2025, she wrote Disney+’s historical drama series, Maria Bonita or Maria: Outlaw Legend.
“Before I entered university, I primarily worked with photography, but since then I have expanded my scope to include video, audio, projection, and installation, drawing on my documentary background,” Delgado said in a statement about her work. “As an artist, my main quest is to understand continuity and finitude. On the other hand, I am interested in understanding the influence of time on our bodies, minds, culture, nature, and matter.”
In September 2025, Variety magazine published Claudia Andujar’s debut novel, The Outsider, about her life. Andujar survived the Holocaust and went on to become a photographer focused on supporting marginalized people in Brazil and defending indigenous lands.
Delgado said she had “love” for Andujar and “deep admiration for her work.”
“My hope is that this film will introduce audiences to the life, art, and work of Claudia Andujar, while providing an important lens on the devastating consequences of predatory development in Brazil,” she said.
Moura has a small role in the project and serves as an executive producer.
do they have children?
The couple have three children. In a 2025 interview, Wagner said that his children are “19, 15, 13 now” and that he is “preparing them to do their thing and go to college, but I don’t know what I’m going to do.”
“It’s been an impossible balance,” he said of juggling career and fatherhood. “I realized that when I tried to take my kids. I’ve been trying to get back. I’ve tried everything. It was heartbreaking to go home and see my kids grow up. But it’s also great to see them understand.”
He continued, “I was doing a play and I spent two weeks with them in Los Angeles. Then I started traveling and I was like, ‘Sorry guys, I have to go.'” And they were like, “Hey, I get it.” This is what you do. ”
On the night he won the Golden Globes, he told Vanity Fair that the most important thing in his life was his family.
“I’ve been doing this for a long time. I’ve been through so many ups and downs in my life,” he said. “We know what’s true and what’s not. It’s a great moment of attention right now, but what’s really going to matter in a couple of months is how do we get our kids to school?”
