4 minute readBack in 2021, Elizabeth Olsen divulged some important information about her personal life when she was interviewed by Kaley Cuoco for Variety’s “Actors on Actors” series. Olsen had been dating her longtime partner Robbie Arnett since 2017, but she suddenly started calling him her husband. The interview was about “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” and “WandaVision,” in which Olsen stars as Scarlet Witch. The mention of magic reminded Olsen that Arnett decorated the background of the interview in her honor.
“Also, I just realized that my husband had a copy of ‘Little Miss Magic.’ The Little Miss book? It’s a classic book, but WandaVision made it ‘magical’ because he’s so cute!” Olsen exclaimed.

Who is Robbie Arnett?
Arnett, 31, is a musician from Los Angeles and a member of the band Milo Green. The trio released their self-titled debut album in 2012. After that, he released “Control” in 2015 and his third album “Adult Contemporary” in 2018. Olsen clearly loves that her boyfriend is a musician, saying in a 2017 interview with Sway in the Morning, “He’s in a cool band.”
Arnett is also an author and co-authored a children’s book with Olsen titled Hattie Harmony: Anxious Detective, which will be published in June 2022. Olsen told People, “Robbie and I couldn’t be more excited to introduce Hattie Harmony to the world. Inspired by the picture books we loved as children, we hope Hattie becomes a friend and a welcome reminder to be kind to ourselves and each other.”
She later told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show that Arnett came up with the title, enthusing: “That’s my husband. He’s so smart.”

How did Olsen and Arnett meet?
The pair met through mutual friends while vacationing in Mexico and began dating in February 2017, a source told E! News at the time was that they were in an “exclusive relationship” and that the actress was very “excited” about her new man.
“She deserves it,” they added. “It’s very new, but they already seem to like each other very much.”
The pair were first photographed in July of the same year at a public event at the Christian Dior show during Paris Fashion Week.
In September of the same year, the two attended a pre-Emmy party together in Los Angeles, which marked the beginning of a more formal relationship.
According to Variety, Arnett joined Olsen, who was traveling for Marvel’s intensive filming schedule, and accompanied her to London for the production of Doctor Strange.
In an interview on the Table Manners podcast with Jesse W., Olsen talked about how they are spending their time in England, saying, “We’re having the best time. I’m with my male partner and we’re in Richmond… We’re living this English dream, this house, in Richmond on the water. We want to figure out how to stay here, so now we want to write a romantic comedy… because we don’t want to leave… I already have a very strong affinity for England.” Last year we were looking at how we could legally live here. ”
The couple also collaborate, including partnering with the nonprofit Latitude Project in 2018 to host a trip to Nicaragua to restore access to fresh water after Hurricane Nate.
When did Olsen and Arnett get married?
The specific date doesn’t seem to be widely known, but in an interview with SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show, she suggested it happened before 2020.
“We eloped and got married at different times, but that was before coronavirus,” she said. A blessed union indeed!
In a 2024 interview with the Guardian, Olsen said he planned the paperwork first so he could host a big party later.
She explained: “I thought I’d just sign the papers and not get too attached.”
Where have they been seen recently?
The couple tends to keep a pretty low profile. However, on Thursday, October 19th, she was photographed casually strolling around New York City, and the following day, she was photographed shopping in Lower Manhattan.
On both days, the couple wore baseball caps and layered fall looks in warm tones. On Thursday, Olsen wore a long black trench to match his hat, and Arnett wore a bright orange cropped jacket to match his hat.
On December 29, 2024, he was spotted shopping at his local Hollywood Trader Joe’s in Los Angeles. Olsen was dressed all in black, wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses, and was carrying a reusable coffee cup. Arnett wore a tan hat, sunglasses, a red T-shirt, and a plaid jacket.
On April 4, 2025, the two enjoyed an afternoon date at a bookstore in Studio City. In the photo shared by Just Jared, Olsen was wearing a gray turtleneck sweater and loose-fitting pants, while Arnette was wearing a blue T-shirt under a jacket, denim jeans, and a baseball cap.
Did Arnett attend the 2024 awards ceremony with Olsen?
yes. The couple posed together at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards in January, where Olsen wore a very bridal white lace dress.
Has Olsen talked about the wedding at all?
In an October 2025 InStyle interview, the actress responded to reports that she was “secretly” married to Arnett. she said: “Why is that a ‘secret’?” I eloped. You just didn’t know about it. ”
She added that she doesn’t consider herself mysterious, saying, “I think I’m private in some ways, but I say too much. It’s long winded and roundabout.”
