Lachie Rice was previously in a relationship with Dacoda Nicole.
The Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver and fitness trainer have been dating for several years and have welcomed two children together. During their time together, Nicole frequently attended Chiefs games.
On January 7, 2026, Nicole shared an Instagram post claiming to be a victim of domestic violence. She did not name the alleged assailant, but suggested he was the children’s father. Nicole wrote about the charges, along with several photos showing bruises, cuts and marks on her body, as well as the person allegedly causing damage to her home.
“I’ve been through too much in 8 years, but enough is enough!” she captioned the photo. “I have endured abuse for years. Me and this man decided to break up a few months ago and it has been nothing but hell since then.”
Rice was drafted by the Chiefs in 2023 after playing college football at Southern Methodist University. However, he was suspended for the first six games of the 2025 season after being involved in a street racing hit-and-run incident in Dallas.

Nicole works as a health and wellness personal trainer. She runs Body by Coda, an organization that provides personal training and helps “women achieve their dream bodies.”
In addition to her Body by Coda Instagram page, she also utilizes her personal page to promote her business, sharing photos and videos of herself lifting weights, getting ready to go to the gym, doing squats, and other exercise routines.
Nicole has two children with Rice.
During their long-term relationship, Nicole and Rice had two children together, sons Kayden and Kasai.
Ahead of the 2025 holiday season, Nicole shared several photos from a photoshoot in which she posed with her sons in front of a holiday-themed backdrop.
“My favorite gift for any season,” she captioned the post.
Nicole keeps much of her sons’ lives private, but she occasionally posts photos of them swimming together, running errands, or participating in playdates.
Meanwhile, Rice, who deleted his Instagram following Nicole’s allegations, was smiling in a photo when his children visited him during practice. In 2023, the SMU football team shared a photo of Rice holding one of his sons while talking with head coach Rhett Lashley.
Other Chiefs fan accounts also include photos of Rice smiling with children on Facebook in 2023 and 2025.

While Nicole and Rice were dating, Nicole attended several Chiefs games to show her support for him.
In October 2025, Nicole took her sons to a game and dressed them in their father’s jersey. She posted a photo of the three of them watching the game, as well as a snap of the boys standing in the stands cheering on their father.
A year ago, she shared a photo of herself wearing a Rice jersey and posing on the field with Rice and one of his sons. Over the years, she has also posted photos of herself watching games from her private suite and posing in the stands at Arrowhead Stadium.
Nicole claims she was a victim of domestic violence
On January 7, 2025, Nicole claimed to be a victim of domestic violence, but did not reveal the name of her alleged abuser. She posted several photos on Instagram of bruises on her body, scratches on her face, and parts of her destroyed house to share her claims.
Without specifying who she was referring to, Nicole said she was “tired of being kept silent” and told her story to “protect his image.”
“He was very controlling, he once came to my new house and broke down the door, he once grabbed me while I was pregnant, and he once had the audacity to lock me outside in 10 degrees Celsius all night because he found out he was cheating on me,” she claimed.
However, in her post, Nicole said that the main reason she wanted to share her suspicions was because her children and the person were “not doing right by my sons.”
“It’s not fair that he doesn’t call…He’s now trying to kick me and the kids out of the house for no apparent reason. I’ve known this man for years. He’s trying to put on this persona like he’s the best dad of the year. He’s doing the bare minimum. “I’ve been protecting his image for too long, and it’s over. It’s time to protect my peace, protect my children, and stand up for myself.” ”
Shortly after Nicole made the allegations about the anonymous person, the Chiefs responded to the allegations.
“The club is aware of the allegations on social media and has been in contact with the National Football League. We have no further comment at this time,” the team said in a statement to PEOPLE on January 7, without naming Rice.
People reached out to Rice’s representatives but did not receive a response. Rice also did not address his ex-girlfriend’s allegations and has not been charged with any crimes related to those allegations.
