Elliot Page and his girlfriend Julia Shipplett debuted the red carpet as a couple at Milan Fashion Week on September 23rd. During the photo call, Shipplett poses alongside the page. He starred in Spike Johnze and Harina Rein’s Gucci short film “Tiger.”
Their glamorous outing came after Page kept their relationship faithful to Instagram at the end of Pride Month. On June 28th, the Umbrella Academy star shared her smiles side by side on the rainbow streets. He simply captioned the photo.
Shiplett gestures back on his Instagram story and posted a clip of the shirtless page. “Happy Priday,” she wrote throughout the video.
This marks the first public relationship on the page since coming out as a transman in 2020. From her comedy roots to the creative career behind the camera, there’s everything you need to know about Shipplet.
She is a stand-up comedian, actress and writer.
Shiplett has worked in comedy for many years. She appeared on shows such as High Maintenance, Love Life, and Overcompensation.
She was also featured on Vulture’s 2022 “Codians Comedians You Should Know” list. In an interview, Shinglett reflected on some of the advice he once followed early in her career. “One of the worst advice is, “Don’t pay too much attention to your appearance, especially like women,” she said. “For years, I thought that if I dressed as clearly and asexually as possible, people would take me more seriously as a comedian without preconceived notions of me or my material. But if hot girl comedy is proven to be anything, I think that can be sexy and stylish too.
She is also a veteran copywriter with a 10-year advertising career.
According to her LinkedIn, Shiplett has worked with clients in media, healthcare and tech as a copywriter. She plays a role in Edelman Digital And Possion, and her brand voicework expands, as she said, from “Pet Adoption to Panty Liners.”
Shiplett describes himself as “a senior copywriter and a creative with over a decade of experience working with leading clients in the industry.”
She also said her work appeared in Comedy Central, Netflix, and HBO Max, as well as The New York Times and New Yorker.
Shiplett is proud of its Asian heritage.
In 2022, Shiplett, whose mother is from Hong Kong, co-created and produced a remote zoom reading for Bling Empire with comedian Tien Tran. The goal was to raise funds for Chinatown mutual aid efforts in both New York and Los Angeles. “We really showed you how creative and funny you were to Zoom,” she said, “It was far away so we were able to cast many of our favorite Asian comedians. Our goal was to raise funds for mutual aid in Chinatown in both New York and LA.
She is not shy about her ambitions.
“I want to be cast in a period film,” she told Vulture in 2022. “I’m kidding about this, but I’m totally serious. I just have my little boobs spilling out of my corset and lit by the candlelight on camera.
