Larter added: “We saw it as an opportunity for a family adventure and just started heading north.” When they arrived in Sun Valley, the couple felt they had found their next home. “We were completely captivated by the beauty of the mountains and their quiet grandeur,” Larter said. “Neither of us had ever lived in a small town before. People look out for each other. There’s a real sense of community here and we’re so happy to be a part of it.”
After settling in, the couple designed and built a 4,400-square-foot home on two acres of land. “Mountains have the effect of grounding people and slowing them down, especially when herds of elk block roads and create traffic jams,” MacArthur said.
