Who is Anna Eberstein?
Eberstein lives in London but was born and raised in Sweden. She studied economics at Uppsala University in Sweden and graduated with a master’s degree. She also studied at Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee, making her education international.
After graduation, Eberstein pursued a career in television, working as a promotions producer for ESPN. She then branched out into business and co-founded a children’s slipper socks brand called Ace and Me with her cousin Pia Tam Hagno in 2014.
She’s apparently not a fan of romantic comedies, the genre Grant is best known for. In an interview with Seth Meyers, Grant said, “My wife is really the man of the house. She likes violent movies, gangster movies, and I’ll sit there and watch ‘Roman Holiday’ or ‘The Sound of Music’ or something. So she didn’t like the movies I’d made in the past, which were all romances and stuff like that. But now she’s starting to get a taste of[my work].”
How long have Eberstein and Grant been dating?
The pair met at a party in London and appeared to have been dating on-again, off-again in the early 2010s. The couple had a child, John Mungo, in 2012. After that, they appeared to have split up. Grant had a son named Felix with Tinglan Hong in 2013. Her second child was born with Hong. They also have a daughter named Tabitha, who was born a year before John.
Grant and Eberstein were once again seen together romantically in 2015, when they attended the French Open at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris.
In 2016, Grant still seemed uninterested in marriage, saying in an interview with Howard Stern, “Do I think people should be in monogamous, faithful relationships that last 40 years? No, no. Who said that? Only the Bible or something. No one said it was a good idea. I think there’s something about marriage that isn’t romantic. It’s shutting yourself off.”
But he must have changed his mind because the two got married in 2018 during a private ceremony at London’s Chelsea Registration Office.
“I’m really happy, I can’t pretend I’m not,” he told Savannah Guthrie on the Today show about his marriage. “I should have done it a long time ago. I just got lucky. I’m lucky. I have a wonderful wife. I love her.”
He also told Reuters about his thoughts on marriage: “I still think it’s really nonsense, and so does my wife, by the way. But it just seemed like a nice, cozy thing to do.”
He also reacted to jokes and rumors about marrying his wife because of her passport.
“I married her because I love her,” he declared.
Do they have more children?
In addition to Grant’s two children with Hong and their son John, the couple welcomed a daughter in 2015 and a third child in 2018. The names of these babies have not been disclosed.
Grant told People magazine in 2018 about becoming a father, “It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me… It’s really nice to have so much love around you. All of a sudden you love someone more than yourself. For me, that’s unheard of. And they love you. It’s all magical.”
In 2020, Grant spoke about his role in The Undoing, which he co-starred with co-star Nicole Kidman on HBO’s Marie Claire, and admitted how much he missed his children on set.
“You had your family with you, and I think that was a very smart thing to do,” Grant said. “I thought, ‘Oh, this is a great opportunity to get away from screaming children.'” I left everyone in London. And every time I did a movie, as soon as I got to New York, I missed it so much. Yes, it was terrible. ”

Eberstein supported Grant at the Berlin premiere of Grant’s film The Heretic. The couple said Grant wore a black suit and Eberstein wore a black tweed minidress, sheer tights and black heels.

In an October 2025 appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Swift revealed that her fiancé, Travis Kelce, once mistook Eberstein for Barbie director Greta Gerwig during their London stop on the Ellas tour.
“The most fun part of having Travis on tour was that he went to the VIP tent afterwards and served me tea,” Swift said. “After the show, we have a debriefing session in the car. Before London, I said, “I have to let you know, your favorite director is in the tent.”
