Amy Slaton has found new love with husband Brian Lovborn.
1000 pounds. Sisters star Lov Vaughn met in 2024, a year after her ex-husband Michael Halterman filed for divorce in March 2023. Slaton has two sons, Gage and Glenn, with Holterman.
After dating for five months, Lovvorn proposed to Slaton in late 2024, and they married on Halloween 2025.
“Being married means I’m not lonely anymore because I’ve realized that my soulmate, Brian, is my happy place!” Slaton told PEOPLE at the time of her wedding, calling herself “the sweetest, most caring person.”
She added: “Not only did he capture my heart, he captured my sons’ hearts. And not many men would accept a single mother with two thriving sons!”

Lovvorn was born on December 26, 1973 to parents Sandra and Odis. He has a brother named Eric, whom he grew up with in Madisonville, Kentucky.
He is also a sports journalist and worked for the local newspaper The Messenger from 1999 to 2006. He first started on the obituary desk, then became sports editor and eventually returned to the paper in December 2023.
“I want to create a newspaper that is as local as possible,” he said at the time. “Local athletes work hard to compete, and I work hard to promote their stories. I said I hope sportswriting is like riding a bicycle, because 17 years is a long time to be away from a sport.”
In addition to covering sports in her work, Lovvorn also enjoys being active. When she got married, Slaton told PEOPLE, “I have a husband who goes out and plays sports with my boys!”

The two first met at a rock concert in 2024. 7 1000 pounds for the season. At the premiere of Sisters, which aired later that year, Slaton said, “We were in the mosh pit, talking and singing, and we went to get street tacos. And we haven’t been apart since.”
On their second date, the couple got matching tattoos on Jack Skellington’s head from The Nightmare Before Christmas that read “Scary love.”
The two became an official couple in June 2024. To celebrate their one-year anniversary, Slaton posted a photo of them together at Discovery Park of America in Union City, Tennessee, with the caption, “Happy one-year anniversary, baby!! One more year to live!!”
They got engaged after dating for 5 months

The two dated for less than six months and got engaged at the end of 2024. Lovborn proposed inside a padded room at the Henderson-Hoots haunted house in Henderson, Kentucky, and Slaton’s sisters, Tammy and Misty, were there to witness the moment.
Lovvorn answered the question with a gothic heart-shaped ring, telling Slaton: “My love for you is crazy. It’s scary how compatible we are.”
“Originally, about two weeks into our relationship, he slipped a green apple ring pop onto my finger while I was sleeping,” Slaton told PEOPLE at the time. “I was shocked at first and said yes, but only if it was a real proposal in a haunted house on Halloween.”
She added, “I get to call him my husband and I get to spend the rest of my life with him. Our engagement may be short, but our marriage will last forever!”
They got married on Halloween 2025

The couple wed on October 31, 2025 at the Talbot Tavern in Bardstown, Kentucky.
At the reception, the couple had a “special” first dance. Afterwards, they ate barbecue pork and country-fried steak, as well as geode-style wedding cake and three-flavor cupcakes.
“Marriage is a promise to spend the rest of your days trying to make each other’s lives as good as possible, no matter what that means, no matter what,” Lovvorn told PEOPLE at the time.
He has two children from a previous relationship.

Before starting his relationship with Slaton, Lovvorn was married to his ex-wife, with whom he has a daughter and a son.
He is also stepfather to Slaton’s sons, Gage Dion and Glenn Allen, with Halterman.
“(The boys) took him in naturally. He was a perfect fit for our family,” Slaton told PEOPLE after the wedding. “He’s a perfect fit for the life I’ve always wanted.”
Lovvorn and Slaton were arrested together in September 2024

In September 2024, Slaton and Lovborn were arrested at Tennessee Safari Park in Alamo, Tennessee. The Crockett County Sheriff’s Department responded after a guest was reportedly bitten by a camel. But when officers arrived, they noticed a “suspicious odor” coming from Guest’s car.
Slaton and Lovborn were then arrested, along with Gage and Glenn, and charged with unlawful possession of Schedule I, unlawful possession of Schedule IV, and two counts of child endangerment. The boys were taken into the care of family members.
In December 2024, Slaton and Lovvorn both pleaded guilty to one count of simple possession of marijuana and one count of simple possession of mushrooms. Child endangerment charges were dismissed.
The couple’s plea agreement included paying a $1,000 fine and completing a drug and alcohol evaluation and state-certified parenting classes. They were given two years’ probation and banned from Tennessee Safari Park.

Lovvorn first began appearing in 1000 pounds. In the Season 7 premiere, which aired in April 2025, the sisters were featured alongside Slaton. The season chronicled their relationship from the early days to their engagement and wedding planning.
The journalist will continue to appear in Season 8, which will depict her marriage to Slaton.
“I’m looking forward to letting TLC viewers see my beautiful bride and cool venue,” he told PEOPLE during the wedding.
