Three new cast members will be added to Season 4 of The White Lotus.
Helena Bonham Carter, Chris Messina and Marissa Long are set to star in the new season of HBO’s hit series. It was previously reported that Bonham Carter and Messina were in talks for the role this season, but nothing has been officially announced until now.
As with “The White Lotus,” the exact characters and plot details are being kept secret. The new trio will be joined by previously announced cast members Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Alexander Ludwig and AJ Michalka.
As previously reported, season 4 will take place in France, including Paris and multiple locations along the Cote d’Azur. Series mastermind Mike White will write, direct, and executive produce. David Barnado and Mark Kamin will also serve as executive producers.
Appearing in “White Lotus” will be Long’s television debut.
Bonham Carter has been nominated for two Oscars during her career, once for Best Supporting Actress for The King’s Speech and once for Best Actress for The Wings of the Pigeon. She has also been nominated for nine Golden Globe Awards, including for her work in films such as the aforementioned two and Sweeney Todd, as well as her role in two seasons of The Crown. She has likewise been nominated for an Emmy Award five times, including twice for “The Crown” and “Merlin,” “Live from Baghdad” and “Burton & Taylor.” Her other notable film credits include “Fight Club” and the “Harry Potter” film series.
Messina’s recent television appearances include “Based on a True Story” on Peacock, the Starz Watergate drama “Gaslit,” Season 3 of USA Network’s hit series “The Sinner,” and HBO’s “Sharp Objects.” He is probably best known for his role in the comedy series The Mindy Project, in which he starred as Danny Castellano. In feature films, Messina has appeared in films such as “Air,” “Argo,” “Away We Go,” “Juror #2,” “I Care A Lot,” and “Birds of Prey.”
Bonham Carter is repped by Conway Van Gelder Grant. Messina is repped by Entertainment 360, CAA and Sloane Offer. Mr. Long is repped by Canopy Media Partners, Next Model Management and Yorn Levine Barnes.
