“The Real Housewives of Miami” stars Rasa Pippen and Lisa Hochstein have gone through many ups and downs, but according to Pippen, their once-crowded friendship has yet to be fully repaired after the fireworks of the Season 7 reunion.
“When we left the reunion, we felt like we were in a better place,” Pippen tells only “virtual Reali-Tea” on Page 6.
“But when I was watching social media and my friend sent me a clip, I felt like I had arrived at a better place and commented on Lisa, and I just let it go.
The pair’s rift began long before the reunion, when 51-year-old Pippen was unhappy with 43-year-old Hochstein not immediately lifting Pippen’s ex-boyfriend Marcus Jordan on social media.
At the time, Marcus, son of NBA legendary Michael Jordan, was particularly stabbing Hochstein’s follower list as he had publicly veiled Pippen. Pippen felt that Hochstein’s hesitation had shown a lack of loyalty and caused a fallout of friendship carried on filming.
Looking back at the drama, Pippen, who is currently dating basketball player Jeff Coby, suggests that her co-star’s actions may have stemmed from personal confusion rather than malicious.
“To be honest, I don’t know either,” she says. “When you’re in a place of confusion, I sometimes take it wherever you go. Really, I wasn’t the only season. She missed the flight and appeared late for dinner. It wasn’t just me.
Still, Pippen questions whether the ceasefire reached by the women during the reunion will continue. And now he believes that a seemingly solid friendship with Hochstein’s fellow mojito holder Guadi Abraila is being forced.
“It’s like kids who don’t know which classroom they’re going to next. And they both say, ‘We’re both lost, let’s get it.’ I don’t think it’s real,” she explains.
Despite his tensions with Hochstein, Pippen claims that his bond with the rest of the “Miami” cast remains strong and authentic.
Regarding the update to page 6’s reality TV…
“It feels like the rest of us have a really great relationship,” she says, “virtual realitea.” “I talk to Mary Sol (Patton) and Alexia (Nepora). I literally every day, I always see them. They were at my house just a week ago. My relationship with Julia (Remigova) is amazing. I have her here.
“So some of us feel like we have a really good relationship. That’s work. We’re investing in each other,” Pippen said.
As season 8 approaches, fans are looking closely to see if Pippen and Hochstein’s uneasy detente will hold on, or if Miami’s heat will turn into ice again.
“The Real Housewives Ion Miami” will air on Bravo on Thursday at 9pm ET, with a new episode available that will be streamed on Peacock the next day.
