Travis Kelce is still unsure about his future in the NFL.
After the Kansas City Chiefs lost their final game of the season to the Las Vegas Raiders over the weekend, the Chiefs tight end spoke briefly to reporters about whether he plans to retire.
“First of all, I love this team,” Kelce, 36, said in a video shared by Kansas City Star reporter Sam McDowell on Sunday.
“I’m proud of the way it ended – even though it ended like that. The players still came and gave their all. That’s all you can ask for,” he added.
“I have so much love for this team, this organization and the people here, so I’m going to spend time with them, go to the exit meeting tomorrow, be close to my family and work things out.”
Asked if he would “give it some time” before deciding to retire, the three-time Super Bowl champion said, “You never know. It’s either going to come to me right away or it’s going to take some time.”
Kelce said the decision to continue playing soccer after the 2024-2025 season was “an easy one.”
“I immediately knew I wanted to try this,” he said. “I don’t know, let’s see.”
Afterwards, another reporter asked the “Catching Kelce” alum if he felt he had become a “better player” this season.
“Obviously, we didn’t do well as a team, but I felt like we came into the season prepared with the right intentions and ready to rock and roll,” Kelsey said.
“Unfortunately, in a lot of close games, the ball didn’t go our way,” he confessed.
“If I choose to come back, that’s something I really have to focus on and make sure I’m available and ready for the moment.”
Kelsey’s fiancé, Taylor Swift, was absent from Kelsey’s final game of the season at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
The pop star, who began dating the athlete in 2023, typically does not attend away games at Kelce due to safety concerns.
Last month, Page Six exclusively reported that Swift, also 36, and co-host of the podcast “New Heights” were planning a variety of projects and a long-awaited wedding for life after the NFL.
