This year’s Governors Ball, which follows Sunday’s 98th Academy Awards, will feature Wolfgang Puck’s signature menu items, including chicken pot pie and Oscar-shaped smoked salmon crackers.
However, the evening will feature some new additions, including a sushi and salmon station where five chefs will prepare hand rolls, nigiri, and crispy mochi. Dessert will feature apple strudel and an ice cream station made from Puck’s own mother’s recipe. “We have a new ice cream machine,” said Pack’s son and co-chef Byron Pack. “When you’re making ice cream or sorbet or gelato for 1,500 people, it’s tough. When you bring it out, it’s so cold that you have to keep it overnight, so it usually ends up like a stone. This machine keeps it cold and spins the ice cream, so you end up with a consistent smooth smooth texture. And it’s made from scratch.”
This is the 32nd time this year that the puck has responded to the ball. He makes sure all your dietary needs are met on your big night. He recalled the arrival of Joaquin Phoenix, who won the Best Actor Oscar in 2020 for “Joker,” at the gala. “We got Joaquin and his whole team into the kitchen, and then Joaquin said to me, ‘We’re vegan,’ and I said, ‘You know what, we’ve got you covered,'” Pack said. So we fed them all our vegan food and he said, “This is the best vegan restaurant in the world.” we are very proud of that. ”
