New details have been revealed about Taylor Swift’s speech at Selena Gomez’s wedding last weekend. Sources told Entertainment Tony that Swift gave a “quite-long speech.”
Taylor Swift traveled to California last weekend to attend the wedding of longtime friend Serena Gomez and Benny Blanco. A few days after the ceremony, sources revealed more about what Swift said in her remarks.
Sources told Entertainment Tonight that Swift elicited the pair’s 17-year friendship, saying, “Taylor gave a rather long speech at the reception, mentioning the jokes he shares with Serena.”
Shortly afterwards, insiders provided us with details each week about what Swift had discussed. “Taylor gave a very heartfelt speech at the wedding,” the source said. “She went deeper and talked about how over the years Serena cried on the floor, mentioning exes, seeing Serena have a broken heart and saying that Serena had now had Benny.”
“(Taylor) says that finding someone like Benny is a best friend’s dream and is very happy for her,” the insider added.
In 2020, both Swift and Gomez spoke about their outlet profiles about Gomez and their friendship with WSJ Magazine. “There’s always been quality for this sister, but I haven’t said it in a basic way,” Swift said of their bond. “I’d always had her from the time I met her. In my life I have the ability to forgive those who hurt me. But I don’t know if I can forgive those who hurt her.”
“People don’t know because there’s a lot of my friendship with Taylor, so we don’t necessarily feel the need to post about what we’re doing. She showed up for me in a way I didn’t expect. I flew because I was going through something.
