Kim Kardashian has reached a new milestone in her budding romance with Lewis Hamilton, sharing a reel to Instagram on Monday showing the F1 driver smiling in the passenger seat of a Ferrari while eating donuts, and insiders revealed what ex-husband Kanye West really thinks about their relationship.
“This is a good thing. Kanye wonders, ‘Is Lewis a good person?’ (He’s not). He’s a kind, smart guy, a good person, a great athlete,” said a source close to West, 48, adding that Hamilton is an “acquaintance” of the rapper’s inner circle.
Last month, Hamilton, 41, was on holiday in Tokyo with Kardashian and West’s three children: daughter Chicago, 8, and sons Saint, 10, and Psalm, 6. Their eldest daughter, North, 12, was not seen in the photos they posted from the trip.
Hamilton and Saint were spotted in a fan video shopping together at SNKRDUNK, a store that sells shoes, clothing and rare Pokemon cards.
“He feels safe now that Lewis is with the kids,” the source said of West. “He trusted me with that. He loves her (Kardashian, 45) in a way that he wants her to be happy.”
That’s a big difference from West’s feelings for Pete Davidson, Kardashian’s first big public love interest since her split from West in February 2021.
“He hated Pete Davidson,” the source said.
Kardashian began dating West while she was embroiled in a messy divorce, which was finalized in November 2022. During their nine-month relationship, West released a song in which he threatened to “beat Pete Davidson’s ass” and a music video in which he kidnapped and buried a cartoon version of the comedian, whom Kardashian had jokingly nicknamed “Skate.”
“I felt really sad,” Kardashian told Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper in October 2025. “It was really unfair (to Davidson).”
At the time, the source said, West was “traumatized by the loss of the love of his life,” adding that West has now “acknowledged why he lost her…He caused a lot of turmoil for her…but he also caused turmoil in the world. He looks back and says, ‘Oh my God.'”
Kardashian blamed West’s “toxic” behavior for their breakup, citing his manic “episode” on “Call Her Daddy.” (West has spoken about being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, calling it his “superpower.”)
“I didn’t want to feel like anyone was talking bad about my kids, my grandmother, my aunt. I hated all of those feelings,” Kardashian told Alex Cooper, adding that she had also revealed too many personal issues, including her ex-girlfriend’s public statement that she considered having an abortion during her pregnancy with North.
She also cited a “lack of stability” in her marriage and “not feeling emotionally or financially secure,” and recalled that West might bring home five new Lamborghinis, but may end up giving them away to friends during an “episode.”
Currently, the source said, “You guys are at peace. He has returned to his music activities and is fashioning a style that focuses on his positive feelings and gratitude.” The rapper also said he “wants to have a child” with wife Bianca Censoli starting in 2022, and “he has some interesting names in mind.”
Last week, West played two sold-out comeback concerts at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, but Wednesday’s show was riddled with technical issues that led to him reprimanding staff from the stage.
Over the weekend, Pepsi and Diageo withdrew their sponsorship of London’s Wireless Music Festival, citing West as the headliner.
In October 2022, West tweeted that he was going to do a “deathcon 3” against Jews, a comment that led multiple companies, including Adidas, to cut ties with him.
In 2023, the rapper attended a viewing party for his album Vultures wearing a black Ku Klux Klan hood and promoted a swastika T-shirt in a 2025 Super Bowl ad.
Ahead of the March 28 release of West’s 12th album, Bully, West took out a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal apologizing for past anti-Semitic and anti-Black comments.
And last November, he met with Israeli-Moroccan Rabbi Yossiyahu Yosef Pinto in New York and apologized for anti-Semitic comments about the Jewish community.
“I feel really blessed to be able to sit here and be accountable,” West confessed, holding Pinto’s hand. “I was dealing with a lot of issues. I was also dealing with bipolar disorder, so I kind of accepted my thoughts and forgot about protecting the people around me and myself. So I wanted to be accountable.”
The source also told Page Six that West has been nurturing his daughter North’s music career. She released the song “Piercing On My Hand” in February, which features songs by her father FKA Twigs and Sean “Diddy” Combs’ son King Combs.
“He’s proud. I met North and she said, ‘I’m a rapper now,'” the source added. “She’s fire. She’s fire MC.”
As reported by People magazine, when asked about Kardashian’s decision to homeschool her tween, a source admitted, “She’s being educated between her father’s and her mother’s…worldviews.”
