Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau made their red carpet debut at the Tribeca Festival last night at the premiere of her concert film Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour. During the event, the two talked about their relationship, with Perry calling Trudeau the “love of her life” and talking about how he supports her. Trudeau spoke about Perry in a red carpet interview, admitting that he’s seen her show three times and only focuses on one thing during her concerts.
Almost a year after Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau were first spotted on a date in Montreal, the couple made an official red carpet appearance at the premiere of Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour during Tribeca Festival. The former Canadian prime minister and the singer were affectionate on the red carpet, with Trudeau seemingly smitten with her as he held her hand and posed. They also spoke publicly about their romance and spotlighted their deep feelings for each other.
Prime Minister Trudeau was the more reserved of the two, but he never hid his awe of his partner.
On the red carpet, Entertainment Tonight asked him if he had seen her concert footage. He replied, “I’ve seen the show three times, but I didn’t pay much attention to anything other than Katie. So I’m looking forward to watching the show for the first time now.”
Meanwhile, during the Q&A, Perry addressed his relationship with Prime Minister Trudeau, talked about what’s going on, and talked about it in more detail than ever before.
“I’m so in love,” she said via E! She added of the filmed concert in Paris, “Actually, that show was after I met the love of my life. So I felt very anchored by that, because I’m kind of like a rainbow kite. I want to fly really high and, you know, touch the veil, the universe, but sometimes I need to be anchored. So having that anchor, I feel really complete now.”
She also reflected on being in her 40s, saying, “I’m different now. My 20s were for emotions, my 30s were for sorting through those emotions, and my 40s were for ignoring those emotions and turning them into gasoline, and eventually all of them.” We’re all humans here and it doesn’t matter. It’s like sadness doesn’t discriminate, sadness doesn’t discriminate, everyone is affected in their own way. ”
Regarding her journey, including her breakup with Orlando Bloom a year ago, she said, “Last year was probably one of the most difficult years of my life, and I went through some really tough times. There were some really, really tough days, but I kept going because I made a promise to my fans. I made a promise to my daughter. I made a promise to myself, and that’s what got me through it.”
