Will Daniel Craig be his last role as Benoit Blanc?
At the Toronto International Film Festival, Wake Up Dead Man: A mystery sounded on Saturday, September 6th, with 57-year-old Craig reflected in the third in writer Lean Johnson’s “extraordinary” murder mystery film.
“How lucky are you to be able to do something like this?” English Star tells people on the premiere red carpet. Craig played the wise detective blanc on Knife Out in 2019 and Glass Onion in 2022. Wake Up Deadman was in theaters on November 26th and streams on Netflix on December 12th.

“When I think about this character, that’s all I can think about,” Craig continues. “I mean, I’m playing (James) Bond, and now I’m playing Benoit Blanc all of a sudden. That’s stupid luck. I’m very fortunate.”
When asked if Wake Up Deadman would mark the end of playing the iconic character, Craig said, “Who told you that? I ask, I don’t know. Leanne is out of this movie so he’s not writing anything.”
But he adds that the writer-director “is as good as writing another script and I think it will probably be, that’s an easy decision.”

Johnson confirmed the title of his third knife-out movie in May. He shared a teaser clip in X, which includes a narration referring to Blanc’s “the most dangerous case ever.” The filmmakers later shared a photo of Craig, who has long hair in the character, and announced that the film had enveloped the production.
Johnson spoke to Variety in 2022. “If we can try something exciting, not just a whole new location and a new cast, as well as something exciting, as long as Daniel (Craig) and I have a good time, if each of these things actually did, if each of these things actually did, if each of these things actually did, if each of these things actually did, if each of these things actually did.
Craig has finished his five-part movie tenure playing iconic Agent 007 in 2021’s No Time To Die. In March, Deadline reported that he was gaining attention for taking part in the big screen of Greta Gerwig in CS Lewis’ The Chronicles of Narnia novel.
Following the world premiere, Wake Up Dead Man: Out Mystery will be in theaters on November 26th and Netflix on December 12th.
