Wendy Osefo’s social media post on the day she reported her home burglarized, which authorities now say was a scam by her and her husband Eddie Osefo, has raised eyebrows.
In an Instagram post dated April 7, 2024, Wendy shared a photo of herself cuddling up with Eddie. According to X user Sutton Thrower, who resurfaced the post after the couple were arrested on multiple fraud charges, Wendy chose Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s “Bonnie & Clyde” to play in the background.
The song has since been deleted, but Wendy’s caption quoting Jay-Z’s lyrics remains as it was originally released.
“🎶 Let us be together, how can you stop us both? No matter what she lacks, I’m on her shoulders 🎶 – JayZ,” she wrote.
The 2002 hit song’s title references Bonnie Parker and Side Barrow, a real-life couple who gained notoriety for their 1932 bank robbery and multiple murders.
Although critics slammed the reality star for her song choices, she and Eddie have not been found guilty of anything.
One comment read: “Why do I feel like she knew what she was doing with that song? We laughed all over our faces.”
Another comment read: “Ok…so she thinks it’s a game…well play time is over and prosecution has begun.”
“Man, this is getting more and more embarrassing by the hour,” one user said.
Another X comment read, “How childish! What are we high schoolers? Glorifying our own criminal acts? Disgusting.”
Lipstick Alley’s post on Wendy’s April 2024 Instagram included comments such as, “She’s so corny, even in her Bad Girl days. Cheaters are so disgusting and it’s their choice to be arrogant about it in posts like this. This isn’t their first time. This is the first time they’ve been caught.”
Another comment bluntly called some of it “shameless.”
Wendy and Eddie were arrested on multiple fraud charges on Thursday, Page Six confirmed. They were released Friday on $50,000 bond each.
The charges stem from a robbery the couple reported in April 2024, in which Wendy, 41, claimed some of her designer bags and jewelry were stolen while she was on vacation in Jamaica.
But authorities have questioned the legitimacy of the theft, accusing the couple of lying to get insurance money in documents obtained by Us Weekly.
The charges include Wendy being seen on social media wearing a ring they claim was stolen, and investigators also discovered that the Osefos were “in significant debt”.
A representative for the Ocefoss told Page Six on Friday that the couple “looks forward to their day in court.”
