Tom Cruise danced with Debbie Allen at a party on Saturday, the day before he accepted the prestigious Oscar at the 2025 Governors Awards.
In a video shared to Instagram by DJ D-Nice, the “Mission: Impossible” actor and the “Fame” star are seen facing each other as they dance to Frankie Beverly and Maze’s 1981 hit “Before I Let Go” at a party hosted by the Debbie Allen Dance Academy in Los Angeles.
At one point, Cruise, who looked dapper in a black suit, moved his hips from side to side and put his arm around Allen, who was wearing a floor-length floral dress, before wrapping his arm around her.
In another part of the video, the “Top Gun” star, 63, and the famed choreographer, 75, danced to Luther Vandross’ “Never Too Much” with “Black-ish” actress Jennifer Lewis and Allen’s sister Phylicia Rashad.
“The atmosphere was amazing last night!” the DJ, real name Derrick T. Jones, captioned the post.
“Keeping the atmosphere lively while celebrating @therealdebbieallen in style. @tomcruise is invited to the BBQ!”
Several fans took to the comments section to praise Cruise’s dancing skills.
“Tom is so much fun!!! Goo Tom!!” one user wrote.
“It’s nice to see Tom having a good time and relaxing.[DJ D-Nice]always sets up the party and brings a good vibe,” added another user.
“Okay, Tom’s loose! You can dig,” a third person commented.
“Mr. Cruise understood the mission #TwoStep,” said a fourth netizen.
The day after the party, Cruise and Allen accepted the prestigious Oscar along with Dolly Parton and Wynne Thomas at the Governors Awards held at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Hollywood, California.
The couple broke up in October after dating for about a year.
The four winners were announced in June.
At the time, Academy President Janet Yang said the honorees were “four legendary figures whose extraordinary careers and contributions to the filmmaking community continue to leave a lasting impact.”
Cruz appeared to be in good spirits despite first being reported to be dating in February and splitting from actress Ana de Armas in October.
