Sabrina Carpenter performed her first headlining show at Coachella. The singer performed songs from her latest studio albums, “Man’s Best Friend” and “Short and Sweet.” Ahead of the weekend, she told Perfect magazine that the set was “the most ambitious show I’ve ever done.”
Sabrina Carpenter headlined the first day of Coachella and certainly put on a show. She prepared a set list with excerpts from her latest albums “Man’s Best Friend” and “Short and Sweet,” and performed “We Almost Broke Up Last Night” for the first time. She prepared an elaborate set design that celebrated the Hollywood Hills, including her own “Sabrina Wood” sign.
Carpenter wowed audiences with some of her favorite stars in the film’s intro, which included Landman’s Sam Elliott, appearances by Will Ferrell and Samuel L. Jackson, an interlude in which Susan Sarandon played an older version of Carpenter, and a cameo from Girl Meets World co-star Corey Fogelmanis.
Fans quickly posted footage of her performance.
They also shared her complete setlist.
Some of her biggest fans were her friends. Hailey Bieber, Kylie Jenner and Blackpink’s Rosé all posted from her stage perspective.
Ahead of the performance, Carpenter told Perfect magazine’s Marc Jacobs that he put a lot of work into his Coachella set. “This is the most ambitious show I’ve ever done,” she said. “This might be the longest time we’ve ever actually just sat down and talked about the show as we’re crafting it. Most of the time we jump right into physical rehearsals, but this time we started this process about seven months ago. So it’s been a long journey. It’s going to be something very special.”
She spoke about her past experience there, saying, “I’ve played there, but not as a headliner. I was playing on the main stage two years ago at sunset around 5:30pm. That was a really special day for me, the day my song ‘Espresso’ was released. Koche We were able to play it for the first time in LA. And now, two years later, we’re back. And I think that’s what makes this show really, really surreal. They came after it, and how much life they’ve lived since they came out.”
