Warning: Spoilers ahead for Fallout Season 2, Episode 3.
What you need to know
Prime Video teased that Season 2 of Fallout would add Justin Theroux, Kumail Nanjiani, and Macaulay Culkin, but the streamer left one new addition as a surprise to viewers. Episode 3 of the latest installment of the apocalyptic series saw John Griese unexpectedly appear opposite star Walton Goggins in a fun White Lotus reunion.
Gries, 68, joins Fallout as Biff, a struggling New California Republic soldier who is encountered by Ghoul (Goggins, 54) on his way to the Legion camp where Lucy (Ella Purnell) has been taken. He is stationed at an abandoned outpost with Rodriguez (Barbara Eve Harris), who reveals to the bounty hunter that he has not had contact with the NCR in over ten years.
The two characters’ encounter, although brief, comes after both actors shared the screen as part of the Season 3 cast of creator Mike White’s hit HBO series. The Thailand-set episode saw Glease reprise his role as Greg Hunt, Tanya McQuoid’s (Jennifer Coolidge) ex-boyfriend, and Goggins starred as Rick Hatchett, a con man looking to avenge his father’s death.

Speaking to PEOPLE about Fallout Season 2, Goggins and showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet discussed an unexpected Easter egg.
“I’ve known John for a long time and there was an opportunity for someone of his type to be a part of this story,” the actor says of his role as Biff. “John was just the right person for that.”
Echoing that sentiment, Robertson-Dworet added, “He’s the sweetest guy, and I think he really brought that to the role.” The executive producer explained, “We actually cast John because he’s a very empathetic person.” She further added, “You idolize him right away, which is what I needed for that role in NCR.”
“We were honored to have him,” she continues.

For Goggins, it was also another opportunity to spend more time with friends, as filming for Fallout Season 2 took place after the conclusion of The White Lotus, which was shot on location in Thailand.
“We ended up spending time in the desert together,” the actor said, joking that the dynamic on set was “very different” but “still hot.”
As for Season 2 overall, Goggins teased what the ghoul’s journey to New Vegas will look like as he continues to help Lucy, saying the two are on an “apocalyptic road trip.”
“It kind of picks up where we left off last season, where he sees her as a human being for the first time,” the actor said, explaining that he and Parnell, 29, “talked at length about the evolution of their relationship and thought about the reality of two people walking for days on end and how that relationship changes over time.”
New episodes of Fallout Season 2 will be released every Wednesday on Prime Video until the finale on February 4, 2026.
