He is “just a human”.
Nick Jonas took a moment for himself at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday after a video went viral showing members of The Jones Brothers leaving the ceremony.
The clip, shot by Parade Magazine, caught the attention of fans, with one fan writing of X: “Social anxiety drove him over.”
Jonas responded to X’s repost by saying, “Oh… it hit me like a gut punch,” referring to his latest single “Gut Punch.”
In the video, Jonas, 33, can be seen taking a breather from the chaos outside the event.
Fans were quick to pour in supportive comments, with one writing: “Nick is doing such a great job!!! I have anxiety myself so I empathize with you. I’m so proud of you.”
Another fan said: “You are doing great!
“I know this look…anxiety and panic attacks are no joke!” chimed in a TikTok user.
Wearing a black Berluti pinstripe tuxedo, Jonas attended the ceremony with his wife Priyanka Chopra, 43, and won the award for Best Male Actor in a TV Series (Drama) along with rapper Lisa.
The “Sucker” singer has previously spoken openly about his struggles with mental health.
During an appearance on the podcast Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard in 2023, Jonas recalled the off-kilter guitar solo he performed during a duet with singer Kelsea Ballerini at the 2016 Academy of Country Music Awards, which ultimately led to him seeking therapy.
“Looking back, it’s kind of funny how big of a deal I thought it was,” he said at the time. “But it made me travel more than I wanted to and it led me to go to therapy.”
He later described the moment as “really traumatic” and explained how it shaped the pressure on himself to “be perfect, always have to be.”
And in 2021, Jonas opened up to PEOPLE about the emotional toll his type 1 diabetes diagnosis took on him.
“I think the mental and emotional health aspect is really important,” he said. “I’m definitely seeing a therapist…and luckily I have a really good support system and great doctors around me.”
He added that there needed to be more awareness of the “mental and emotional impact” the disease could have on individuals as well as their loved ones.
