Vince McMahon’s sex trafficking scandal may have ended his career, but it doesn’t seem to have much of an impact on his position in the world of wrestling.
Page 6 hears that the longtime WWE boss threw a gorgeous 80th birthday party last week at a bash at the luxury Baccarat Hotel and Gotham Hall in Midtown.
McMahon resigned from the wrestling empire he made last year after the Wall Street Journal reported that the Wrestling Imprezario had launched an investigation into allegations that it had won employee Janel Grant, among other things, McMahon and three WWE colleagues. McMahon vehemently denied the allegations.
The weekend festivities seem to be something like a show of support for abdicated boss.
Alongside the legendary Cena and Undertaker, there was also Undertaker’s wife and fellow wrestling, Michelle McCool, a favourite sergeant from the 90s, to celebrate McMahon’s milestone birthday. Massacre, son of the square circle Great Kane and McMahon and fellow WWE Executive Shane.
Kidlock is said to have also appeared in the Gotham Hall Leg of the Festival.
Cena publicly defended McMahon, telling the New York Times that “I don’t care who hears it: I love Vince.”
“I’m not downplaying any kind of claim that needs to be decided or any kind of claim, but when I love someone, I love them so much,” said the WWE Champion, who turned into an actor. “I know people are mad about it, but they can’t value them in my relationship with someone I love.”
