Victoria Beckham has opened up about her early romance with now-husband David Beckham. They include a comical moment when the former footballer had to take an embarrassing walk after spending the night with Beckham while on tour with the Spice Girls.
“He blended in really smoothly with the other girls,” she said of former bandmates Melanie Brown, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Melanie Chisholm on the Oct. 22 episode of her “Call Her Daddy” podcast. “I remember when we were on tour and we were doing a show in Manchester and he snuck into my room and literally the next morning David jumped out of the window and I had to do the walk of shame.”

The fashion designer said the experience influenced David’s soccer practice the next day.
“[He]had to miss training because he had blisters on his feet. He literally had to do some embarrassing walks in his clothes from the night before,” Victoria recalled with a laugh. “But he fits in with the other girls and they love him right away. And he feels very comfortable with who he is.”

She said her husband was never intimidated by her success, even when they began their romance when she was more famous.
“He has always been very supportive of me,” she said. “You know, when I was on tour, he was there, standing on the edge of the stage, watching. And, yeah, he never felt insecure about anything like that.”

Regarding rumors about their marriage and marital struggles, Victoria said she and David have overcome everything by standing by each other.
“You know we’ve had a lot thrown at us in the past? And we recently celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary, so we were talking about it,” she mused. “By the way, people said it wasn’t going to work. For 26 years. We’ve had so much thrown at us, but we’ve always been in it together, just riding the storm, riding the damn storm.”
Victoria and David married in 1999 and are parents to sons Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and daughter Harper, 14.
“Thank you Mrs. Beckham for so many reasons, including being my wife, giving birth to my four beautiful children, making my daily vitamins, and bringing (your) story to life,” David wrote in an Instagram post on Oct. 9. I’m so proud of you for showing people the journey you’ve been on and continue to take, and the hard work that helped you get here.”
