Vanessa Williams beats menopause with GLP-1 drugs.
The “Ugly Betty” alum has been using Monjaro for the past two years, she told Hello! It was featured in the magazine’s cover story published on Monday.
“This is a game changer,” she said. “When I turned 60, I thought, ‘I want to be here for a long time and I want to be in the best shape I can be. So what do I do?’
Williams, 62, began struggling to stay healthy after experiencing hormonal changes in her late 40s.
“My 50s were tough,” she said. “I went through perimenopause in my late 40s, but now that I’m 51, it’s amazing how my body has suddenly changed.”
The Miss America winner admitted that she felt like her body was “out of control.”
“Because even though you’re training the same way and eating the same way, your body isn’t responding the way it used to,” she says.
Williams doesn’t mind using drugs to keep himself in shape.
“Science is amazing,” she exclaimed. “It’s like, ‘What’s next? Give it a try!'”
The Tony Award winner also addressed the use of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to treat menopause and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide injections (NAD+) to support cellular rejuvenation.
To maintain her youthful glow, she tried a facial treatment called P5. This is the latest version of the “Vampire Facial” and includes polynucleotides and hyaluronic acid.
“I’ve done it three times and I definitely noticed a difference,” she said.
Williams also uses a handheld Zip device on her face to help tighten, plump and contour the skin.
“It was created by Melanie Simon, a makeup artist I worked with on Desperate Housewives,” she said. “She sent it to me and I’ve been using it for 15 years.”
Aging isn’t all bad for Williams.
“As you get older, you gain more composure and wisdom. I’m really happy that I’m still active,” she said of her successful acting career.
Williams is currently starring as Miranda Prestly in the West End musical The Devil Wears Prada.
