Producers April Kelly and Sarah Huxley have signed with UTA, who will also represent their production company, Mini Productions.
Founded in 2012, Mini Productions was founded with a commitment to championing original and underrepresented perspectives, including female-led storytelling, LGBTQ+ stories, and projects around mental health.
Mini Productions helped establish the company’s creative voice by producing a catalog of award-winning short films that were screened internationally before producing feature films.
Mini’s debut film Rose was nominated for the Raindance Discovery Award at the 2020 British Independent Film Awards (BIFA). Rose, written by and starring Matt Stokoe and co-starring Sophie Rundle and Olive Gray, screened at the Melbourne International Film Festival, Sitges Film Festival and Trieste Science + Fiction Festival.
Their short film Edith was longlisted for BIFA and BAFTA, marked the directorial debut of actor Christian Cooke, and starred BAFTA winner Peter Mullan. In January 2022, they continued filming Cooke’s debut feature film, Embers, starring Ruth Bradley, David Willmott, and Claire Perkins.
Since then, the company has produced both stories and documentaries, including The Embassy Murder, distributed by Lionsgate, and the trans documentary Tomorrow’s Too Late, which premiered at Sheffield Dockfest. In 2025, Mini Productions was selected for AMC Networks’ Production – Film Supplier Mentoring Program.
Individually, Kelly’s credits include the Sundance Award-winning feature film Plainclothes, and Huxley’s producing credits include the BAFTA-winning ITV drama Mr Bates vs. the Post Office.
“We are excited to be part of the UTA family and have their support as producers and as a company,” said Kelly and Huxley. “They share our ambition and passion for bold storytelling and we are excited about what we will create together.”
