Lots of red, white, and alcoholic drinks!
The U.S. men’s hockey team held a champagne vigil in Miami to pay a moving tribute to the late Johnny Gaudreau and celebrate their historic gold medal win at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
The players stayed at the luxurious 1 Hotel South Beach on Monday, dined at Court Steakhouse and then partied into the night at megaclub E11even.
The men flew in from Milan, arrived at their luxury accommodation, and were soon spotted drinking Michelob Ultra in line at the hotel’s rooftop pool, WATR, sources told Page Six.
“Word quickly spread that the gold medalist was at the venue, and guests started flocking to the venue,” said a source.
The team was seen descending into the lobby around 9 p.m., where they lit celebratory cigars before greeting the crowd of cheering fans boarding their tour bus.
“They were screaming at the crowd on the bus. They’re the happiest group,” another source said. “Everywhere you go there’s a lot of people wearing their medals. They’re really proud. There were hundreds of people in the crowd.”
The team visited a Michelin-starred steakhouse and indulged in champagne, Petrossian caviar, and a shared third sauce: filet mignon.
Around 11pm, the Olympians ran up to E11even and “stormed the red carpet” for photos before heading inside to take over the club’s party pit, where they were greeted by a bottle parade.
“More than 2,000 people were lining up outside to join the packed party,” said a spy nearby.
I’m told the team had no shortage of alcohol options, with E11EVEN vodka, Armand de Brignac Gold, Bel Air Gold, Don Julio 1942, Dame Mas Tequila and Happy Dad on offer.
“The team enjoyed over $150,000 worth of champagne, much of which was sprayed into the crowd by the champion himself and poured into fans’ mouths,” club officials said.
The team celebrated their country by singing “The Star-Spangled Banner,” “We Are the Champions,” “Gold Bless the USA,” “Born in the USA,” and “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue.”
At one point, they started chanting “Johnny Hockey” to pay homage to the late hockey player Gaudreau.
Connor Hellebuyck reportedly grabbed the microphone and led the crowd in chants of “USA,” while Matthew Tkachuk called Hellebuyck a “savior and secretary of defense.”
Brady Tkachuk carried Jack Hughes on stage and proudly waved the American flag, and Jack Eichel and JT Miller were seen crowd surfing early in the morning.
“The energy didn’t stop for hours,” a fourth source continued, calling it a “legendary night.”
The USA team did not return to the hotel until around 4 a.m., the first source said, noting that all but one team member who ordered room meals crashed.
It is heard that they hurriedly packed their bags before checking out of the hotel at 9 a.m. and headed straight to the White House for a meeting with President Trump.
Early Sunday morning local time, the United States defeated Canada 2-1 in overtime with Hughes’ winning goal, winning the gold medal.
The men’s gold medal comes exactly 46 years after the United States’ “Miracle on Ice” and marks the third time the United States has won an Olympic hockey gold medal.
