Triple Green CineCapital, a new film investment venture focused on the Southeast Asian market, has been launched at JAFF Market in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
The company, led by Singapore-based producer Leonard Lai and Vietnam’s Hung Ching, aims to raise $3 million in capital by 2029 to finance and produce commercial productions aimed at the region’s growing film audience.
Lai has produced 21 features, including multiple installments of Singapore’s “Ah Boys to Men” series, grossing more than $40 million in total. Five of his titles have ranked in the top 10 grossing films in Singapore, and his projects have received Golden Horse Award recognition.
Trinh brings distribution experience across more than 500 major releases in Vietnam’s film and digital sectors, as well as international distribution of more than 80 Vietnamese films across 32 territories. Her investment portfolio has yielded returns of up to 40% on titles released in Asia, North America, Australia, and Europe.
“Southeast Asia is Asia’s third most populous region, making it one of the world’s highest potential film markets,” Lai said in a statement.
“Vietnam is growing rapidly, but it is also a difficult market for foreign investors,” Trinh added, stressing the need for local expertise and structured deals.
Triple Green CineCapital’s strategy includes optimizing film production, acquisition and distribution, sponsorship, and regional incentives. The business targets commercial genres such as action, thriller, horror, family drama, romantic comedy, animation, and adaptations.
The company’s model emphasizes quarterly project tracking, shareholder voting, transaction transparency, and regular financial reporting to appeal to global investors.
