Travis Kelce credits his fiancée Taylor Swift for the explosive clicks of his podcast “New Heights,” which earned him a rare honor.
On Wednesday, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end praised his bride, who announced the upcoming August episode of Apple’s No. 3 episode of the year, “The Life of a Showgirl,” as “so magical.”
Jason Kelce, referring to the flurry of clicks that led to the honor, said on “New Heights” Wednesday that no other episode “comes close” to Swift’s performance with Travis on Aug. 13.
Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelsey, previously held the distinction of leading the most-watched episode of the Kelsey brothers’ podcast. She appeared on the podcast in September 2023.
Kylie, 33, addressed Swift’s acquisition on her podcast “Not Gonna Lie” in August.
“Officially, I’m no longer the record holder for the most-watched episode on any other podcast, and there’s no way I’ll even come close,” she said at the time.
Kylie revealed she doesn’t care if she falls from the top spot, saying: “I love it.”
The mother of four also admitted that she found it “funny” to see “the internet break down” over Swift’s appearance. “
“It just falls apart. I love it. I love it,” she said.
“I’m glad to know that it will lose its long-running reign as the most-watched episode the day before my interviews on other podcasts are released. I welcome that wholeheartedly.”
When the Grammy winner appeared on “New Heights,” she said the podcast was the beginning of her romance with Travis.
“I’m so grateful for this podcast,” she said, recalling when Travis first revealed his crush on her during a 2023 episode.
“About two years ago, Travis decided to use this podcast as his personal dating app, and since then I’ve gotten a boyfriend from this podcast.”
After Swift’s groundbreaking appearance on the show (which happened to be her first podcast interview), Travis popped the question with a proposal in a rose-filled backyard in Kansas, which he announced online weeks later.
“I think for Travis, the podcast was a distraction, kind of a ruse, to keep him from looking out the window at home,” the singer explained to Jimmy Fallon in an interview on The Tonight Show in October.
The “Destined Ophelia” singer also revealed that she realized the NFL star was about to propose when he invited her outside for drinks after the podcast.
The “Cruel Summer” hitmaker recalls him asking, “Do you want to walk around the backyard and have a glass of wine?”
Swift told Fallon, “I’ve always wanted to do that.”
