Poor Stacey, the emo rapper and musician who frequently collaborated with Travis Barker, has died at the age of 26.
The Palm Beach County Coroner’s Office confirmed the musician’s death to Page Six on Monday.
The Boca Raton Police Department confirmed to Billboard that the Florida-born rapper, real name Carlito Milfort, died Saturday due to an “incident.”
Authorities were reportedly called to a Boca Raton hotel on Saturday, and the rapper was taken to a nearby hospital.
Page Six reached out to the Boca Raton Police Department, but has not received a comment.
Poorstasy’s cause of death has not been confirmed, but distraught fans flooded social media comments with messages suggesting he died by suicide.
“You never know how deep someone’s mental pain is…Rest Stacey 🖤,” one fan commented on her last Instagram post.
“Love you family. I wish we could have done more for you. Rest in paradise ❤️🩹,” another added.
Hundreds of other fans expressed their gratitude to the up-and-coming artist and his music for getting them through a difficult time.
Poor Stacey created music that blended hip-hop, punk rock, and heavy metal. The Palm Beach native has released two studio albums and two EPs, and has amassed a loyal fanbase.
He and Barker collaborated on several songs, including “Choose Life”, “Nothing Left”, and “Hills Have Eyes”.
Blink-182’s drummer has not yet commented on the rapper’s death.
Poor Stacey also collaborated with singer and rapper Ian Dior and was featured on the Grammy-nominated soundtrack for Bill & Ted Face the Music.
