Daisy Edgar-Jones will star in Paramount’s new film adaptation of Gabriel Zevin’s best-selling novel “Tomorrow”. This is the story of two friends whose lives intersect for the first time during their childhood and college years, and how they become creative partners in a video game business. Edgar Jones plays Sadie Greene, a genius game designer.
Sian Heder, who won an Oscar for CODA, will direct and write the screenplay based on an original story by Mark Bomback and Zevin. The decades-long plot follows Sadie, her collaborator Sam Masur, and Sam’s roommate and friend Markus Watanabe as they form a video game studio called Unfair Games. The roles of Sam and Markus have not yet been decided.
Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow was published in 2022 and has sold more than 4 million copies in 40 foreign language territories around the world. The New York Times named it one of the 100 best books of the 21st century, and the Los Angeles Times named it one of the best fiction books of the past 30 years.
“Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow” will be produced by Temple Hill’s Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen and Isaac Klausner. Zevin will serve as executive producer.
Edgar-Jones first gained attention in 2020 when he starred opposite Paul Mescal in the critically acclaimed limited series Normal People, which earned him nominations for a BAFTA Television Award and a Golden Globe Award. She then starred in box office hits like 2022’s ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’ and 2024’s ‘Twisters.’ Other film credits include “On Swift Horses” and “Fresh.” In television, he received another Golden Globe nomination for FX/Hulu’s 2022 miniseries “Under the Banner of Heaven.”
Edgar-Jones will next star in Georgia Oakley’s new adaptation of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility, which Focus Features is scheduled to release this fall. She will also star opposite Denzel Washington and Robert Pattinson in Here Comes the Flood for Netflix, directed by Fernando Meirelles, and will co-star with Michelle Williams and Andrew Scott in the thriller A Place in Hell, directed by Chloe Dumont.
Edgar Jones joined Kingsley Ben-Adir on stage in the 2024 West End revival of Tennessee Williams’ classic Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. She is repped by UTA, B-Side, and Sloane, Offer, Weber, Dern.
