Happy Halloween from today’s show!
It was a spooky Friday at the Plaza for fans of the NBC morning show known for its all-out group costumes. And on Friday, October 31st, the group conducted the Today Road Trip across the United States.
Co-hosts Savannah Guthrie, Craig Melvin, Al Roker, Jenna Bush Hager, Carson Daly, Sheinelle Jones, Dylan Dreyer and Willie Geist made an impressive appearance during the show’s second hour as fans packed the plaza to cheer.

First, meteorologist Dreyer appeared as Frankie Valle of the Four Seasons, representing the Garden State of New Jersey.

Daley then jogged out to represent Philadelphia as Sylvester Stallone’s iconic Rocky Balboa. Roker as Clubber Lane in Mr. T.

Laura Jarrett plays Lisa Turtle in Saved by the Bell, who accepts the task of representing the state of California. She even had a fun phone call with Mario Lopez, also known as the real AC Slater.

For the Pride of Las Vegas, Geist took on Wayne Newton and performed a number of classic songs.

Melvin represented Minnesota by painting the plaza purple as Prince sang “Purple Rain.”

It was Jones who really brought this house down as Beyoncé, the pride of Texas. Dressed in a Cowboy Carter costume and riding a horse, today’s third-hour staple took to the stage to perform his “Texas Hold’em” moves.

Peter Alexander, representing Florida, leans in as the bald Jimmy Buffett.

And closing the show were New York City’s most fashionable editors, Anna Wintour and Miranda Priestley, played by Bush Hager and Guthrie, respectively. After performing their own skits, the two powerful women came together to dance to Madonna’s “Vogue.”

Group costumes for morning shows in recent years have featured a specific theme each year. In 2024, the co-hosts dressed like characters from hit movies from the ’80s, ’90s, and 2000s.

Roker and Dreyer enjoyed playing the characters of Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder in Beetlejuice. Guthrie asked actor Luke Wilson to play Elle Woods’ Emmett in Legally Blonde.
Daly and Jones teamed up as Austin Powers and Foxy Cleopatra, played by Mike Myers and Beyonce, respectively, in the film Goldmember.

Correspondent Peter Alexander took on the role of Robin Williams’ iconic Mrs. Doubtfire character, while Laura Jarrett played Bring It On cheerleading character Isis, Gabrielle Union’s rival.
Geist kept his cool as Ron Burgundy in “Anchorman,” while Melvin kept his cool as Axel F. Foley in “Beverly Hills Cop.”
And closing the show were since-retired co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Bush Hager, who originally played Jack and Rose in Titanic, played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.
