“Saturday Night Live” alum Tina Fey will return to the series as host of the first episode of the show’s British version, “Saturday Night Live UK,” passing the baton across the pond.
The show’s first musical guest, Wet Legs, will appear on March 21st.
Fey will be followed by “Fifty Shades” star Jamie Dornan as host and Wolf Alice as musical guest on March 28, and Riz Ahmed, who launches Prime Video’s new comedy “Bait” with Kasabian, on April 4.
Each 75-minute episode will be broadcast live from London at 10pm local time, following a format similar to the US original. Episodes of Saturday Night Live UK will air on Peacock the day after they first aired on Sky One and Now in the UK.
According to Variety, “SNL” creator Lorne Michaels and alumnus Seth Meyers have been in London in recent weeks, sitting in on table readings as the cast and writers prepare for the first episode.
Like its American counterpart, “SNL UK” will be written, rehearsed and performed during the week it airs, and will include an opening monologue, topical sketches, live music and even a satirical news segment, “Weekend Update.”
