Myanmar social media star Ko Tin Zaw Htwe was found bludgeoned to death in a forest in Thailand’s Mae Sot district on January 20th. The creator was 25 years old.
Mae Sot Police Station received a report at around 4pm on January 20 that a body had been found in the grass under a large tree. When they arrived at the scene shortly after, they found Towe’s body had been brutally assaulted and abandoned, Thai newspaper Thai Rat reported.
Htwe maintains over 947,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares lifestyle content, dance videos, and posts with her partners.
Mae Sot Police Station’s Police Colonel Lan Dawardoon told Thairat that one suspect has been arrested in connection with Thwe’s death and an investigation is underway.
Htwe appears to have last updated his social media accounts on January 19th, when he shared a video on TikTok of him lip-syncing to a popular song and showing off his new T-shirt. After news of his death became public, fans of the late author expressed their condolences in the comments section of the post.
“It’s heartbreaking to see someone’s life taken away so quickly 🥺😰😥,” another posted.
“I’m sorry and God bless you,” another shared.
