Tiger Woods was involved in a rollover car crash on Friday in Jupiter Island, Florida, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek held a press conference regarding the incident at 5 p.m.
A representative for Woods did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The accident reportedly occurred near 281 Beach Road just after 2 p.m.
Witnesses tell TMZ that the professional golfer appeared to be “okay” at the scene after the alleged two-car crash. No one appears to have been seriously injured.
The 50-year-old sports icon, a 15-time major champion, just returned to golf at the TGL Finals on Tuesday.
Sources told Page Six that Woods’ girlfriend Vanessa Trump and her daughters Kai and Chloe were not in the car at the time of the crash. But it wasn’t immediately clear whether Woods was alone.
Woods and Vanessa, 48, were recently photographed sharing a rare PDA moment during a TGL golf match in Florida on Tuesday.
During the tournament, Vanessa was also seen bonding with Kai and Chloe, who she shares with ex-husband Donald Trump Jr. Vanessa also has sons Donald Trump III, Tristan, and Spencer with Don Jr.
Woods was previously seriously injured in another rollover crash in California in February 2021.
Woods was lucky to be alive after a high-speed, single-vehicle accident outside Los Angeles that left him with multiple fractures in his leg that required immediate surgery.
“Mr. Woods was extremely lucky to come out of this situation alive,” Deputy Carlos Gonzalez said in February 2021.
Sheriff Alex Villanueva also said at the time that while Woods was “able to communicate,” the golfing great “couldn’t stand up” because “that wasn’t an option.”
Meanwhile, Woods also crashed his Cadillac SUV into a neighbor’s tree in Florida during a 2009 cheating scandal that destroyed his marriage to model Elin Nordegren.
Nordegren, 46, was responsible for the infamous incident in which he used a golf club to smash open the car window of a famous golfer who was lying unconscious inside his car.
Then, in May 2017, Woods was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in Jupiter, Florida.
According to the incident report at the time of his arrest, Woods fell asleep at the wheel and “had to be woken up.” He was eventually released on his own recognizance.
In addition to multiple knee surgeries and major leg surgery following a 2021 car accident, Woods has undergone at least seven back surgeries.
He underwent a microscopic discectomy in 2014 and two more microscopic discectomies a year later. Woods also underwent fusion in 2017, another microdiscectomy in 2021, and microdecompression in September 2024.
Most recently, the five-time Masters champion underwent a disc replacement in October 2025.
“There’s still a lot of work to do…we’re not even at the halfway point yet,” Woods told Golf Digest in a 2021 interview. “I have to develop the muscles and nerves in my legs more. At the same time, as you know, I’ve had five surgeries on my lower back.”
“It’s a tough road,” he continued. “But I’m really happy to be able to go out and watch Charlie play, go to the backyard, and spend an hour or two by myself with no one talking, no music, just the birds chirping. I really missed that part.”
Woods has a 17-year-old son, Charlie, with Nordegren. The ex-girlfriend also has a daughter, Sam, 18.
