You’ve never wondered what your favorite celebrities are reading. Welcome to Page Turner. Here we reveal a book where the stars are engrossed, inspirational, and staying up all night long. Warning: The TBR pile is about to get much longer.

Author Richard Osman’s favorite book is a mixed bag of genres and includes some of the most famous mystery novels of all time.

As a British crime writer, Osman jokes on Page 6, saying that it is “legally mandatory” to include Agatha Christie in his recommendations.

Ottoman’s own mystery, “Thursday Murder Club,” premiered on Netflix on Thursday, saying he is “very proud” of the series and film adaptation.

"Thursday Murder Club" Richard Osman

Starring Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan, “Thursday Murder Club” follows four retirees in the retirement community as they solve the mystery.

“My favorite page turner was when Kelsey Grammer chose both the Bible and his own book,” Osman said – that fifth “Thursday Murder Club” book, “The Impossible Fortune,” will be appearing on September 30th.

“It’s a high-wire stunt that you can get away with if you have a Kelsey Grammar career, but I don’t think I can pull it off, so I just kindly point it out in the direction of “Thursday Murder Club.”

“I’m a Bible that I’m guessing you already know, so here are my six picks so that these two don’t get in the way.”

"The moon in Japan" Jl Carr

“A beautiful, very short (who doesn’t love the short book?) novel about summer in a British village right after the end of World War I. The book is filled with sunlight, sadness, and a blur of shades of memory.

"And there was nothing" By Agatha Christie

“As a British crime writer, I am legally obligated to include Agatha Christie on this list. For me, crime fiction lives on characters rather than plots. It’s not more important than “What happens?” “Why do I care about what happens?” That said, the novel probably gives the cleverest plot twist in the history of crime fiction. ”

"Life after life" By Kate Atkinson

“A single life story is asserted by two world wars. The best book by the best living novelists of Britain.”

"Dutch house" By Ann Patchett

“I can’t choose an English writer. That’s rude. If you’ve never read Anne Patchet, I want you a future joy. I choose the “House of the Netherlands”.

"The most dirty tribe in history" Richard Moore

“I love sports books and there were many people who could choose, but with a detailed look at the men’s 100m final at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, the steroid-fueled Bonanza is a true story told like a thriller.”

"Time to kill" By John Grisham

“I feel that my only real job as an author is to entertain. I’m going to keep readers hooked onto one page and continuing to laugh, cry, think and speculate on the next 400 pages. Grisham is an indisputable master of this.”
