“A Knight of the Seven Kingdom” is adding to its cast for season two.
Variety has reported that Lucy Boynton (“Ruth Ellis,” “Bohemian Rhapsody”), Babou Ceesay (“Alien: Earth,” “Damilola”), and Peter Mullan (“Ozark,” “The Vow”) will be joining the upcoming second season of the “Game of Thrones” prequel.
This news comes just over a week after the season 1 finale. “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” was renewed for Season 2 in November 2025, ahead of the series premiere. Season 2 continues the story of the second Dunk & Egg book, “The Sworn Sword.” Boynton will play Lady Rohanu and CeCe will play Lord Venice. Mullan plays Sir Eustace O’Gray.
Mr. Boynton is repped by United Agents, CAA and Jackoway Austin Tyerman. Ceesay is repped by The Artists Partnership, Entertainment 360 and Granderson Des Rochers. Mulan is represented by Markham, Froggatt, and Irwin.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms stars Peter Claffey as the tall Sir Duncan “Dunk” and Dexter Sol Unsell as Egg. This show is set approximately 100 years before the events of the mothership show. The film is based on George R.R. Martin’s novella, The Story of Dunk and Egg.
The show received critical acclaim upon its debut, with the first season receiving a 94% critic approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. While Claffey and Ansel received praise for their performances, Game of Thrones fans also appreciated the show’s more intimate storylines, shorter episode runtime, and shorter six-episode season.
Martin co-created the series with Ira Parker, and both served as executive producers. Parker is also the showrunner. Other executive producers include Sarah Bradshaw, Owen Harris, Ryan Condal and Vince Gerardis.
