Greg Biffle and his family received a holiday card from a friend days after his tragic death.
Greg, 55, his wife Christina Gross Biffle, 35, and their two children, Emma, 14, and Ryder, 5, were killed in a plane crash at North Carolina’s Statesville Regional Airport on December 18th. Commercial airline pilot Dennis Dutton, his son Jack and Craig Wadsworth were also killed in the crash.
Ron Herbert, a friend of the late NASCAR champion, said he found a family holiday card in his mailbox on Sunday, Dec. 21.
Herbert’s Instagram post read: “I received this in the mail today. Words can’t say enough about my family 🙏🙏🥲🥲.”
The holiday card depicted a family of four smiling and hugging each other as they looked at each other lovingly. The card read, “We hope you’ll slow down and enjoy the magic and joy this season brings. Have a wonderful New Year! Sending you love, Greg, Christina, Emma, and Ryder.”

Days before the plane crash, Greg was promoting “Biffmas,” a daily holiday giveaway of cash and other prizes. Christina also worked on sending Santa letters to children, her mother, Kathy Gross, told PEOPLE.
Cathy also revealed that just before the family crashed, Christina texted her mother from the plane: “We are in trouble.”
“That was it,” Kathy said tearfully. “So we are devastated. Our hearts are broken.”
“I can’t believe they’re gone,” Kathy said. “I don’t remember the last words, so I can’t get that out of my head. But they were happy.”

At the time of the accident, the family was on a “birthday trip” to Sarasota, Florida, to visit Greg’s friend Cleetus McFarland (real name Garrett Mitchell).
The two met during Hurricane Helen relief efforts and became friends. Eventually, they became inseparable, spending time together every month for the past year, with Greg serving as a mentor to McFarland as he rose to prominence in the racing world.
The new stock car driver shared his memories of Greg in an emotional eulogy on Sunday, December 21st.
“The past year and a half with him have been some of the best moments of my life,” McFarland wrote in the video’s caption. “I’m lucky to have him as a mentor and close friend.” “We love you all very much and it is truly a tragedy that we have had to lose Biffles in this way.”
