Amazon Prime Video is once again expanding its Christian programming offering with a series order for the animated adventure comedy The Chosen Adventures.
Prime Video ordered a 14-minute episode of the series co-produced by Amazon MGM Studios and 5&2 Studios. The series will premiere all episodes on Prime Video on October 17th in the United States and internationally in the UK, Latin America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Sub-Saharan Africa.
According to the official logline for “Choosed Adventures,” the show continues, “as 9-year-old Abby and her best friend Joshua navigate life in the ancient city of Capernaum. When children meet Jesus of Nazareth, a wise artisan and teacher, he changes the way he sees the world.
The chosen adventure stars Paul Walter Hauser as sheep, Yvonne Orgi as pigeons, Romy Faye as Abbey, Jude Zarzaur as Joshua, Danny Nuxi as Aba and Zeera Fazal as Emma.
Other recurring voice cast members include “chosen” star Jonathan Lemie as Yes, and Yordin sparks as fish, Parapatel as Matthew, Elizabeth Tabish as Mary, Noah James as Andrew, Joey Vahedy as Thomas, George H. Zantis as George H. Ryan Swanson is a writer, executive producer and showrunner. The Dallas Jenkins executives are produced under the 5 & 2 Studios banner. Chris Jun, Chad Gandersen, Keith Alcorn, Keren Erskine and Dellal Ives will also serve as executive producers along with producer Erin Elizabeth Gardner and co-producer Misha Gosselin.
Jenkins originally revealed his plans for a “chosen adventure” in an interview with Variety in 2024. The show falls into a multifaceted deal between Jenkins and 5&2’s Amazon MGM Studios. 5&2 recently landed the Green Lights of the series “Joseph of Egypt” on Prime Video.
The same day Amazon announced the launch date for Prime Video’s Wonder Project Subscription Offering, there’s news of orders for the animation series. The launch coincides with the premiere of the second season of the Bible series House of David, produced by the Wonder Project.
